Centre for Social Activities of Kristu Jayanti College had organised Rural Exposure Camp from 10th to 13th Dec, 2015 at E-Thimsandra, Shiddalagatta taluk, Chikkaballapura dist. The objective of the camp was to enable students understand the Socio-Economic and Cultural conditions of rural life and to help students integrate essential value for life.
The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Srikantha, Judge, JMFC court, Shiddalagatta. Legal awareness program was conducted by Mr.Papireddy, Lawyers association president, Shiddalagatta taluk. Various programs were conducted by volunteers like Swachh Bharath, Life Skills and sports to government school students and dengue campaign to villagers. Socio-economic survey the current rural life style. Team building activities was organized in order to develop inter-personal relationships among volunteers. On 12th Dec, Fr. Josekutty P D, the Principal and Fr. Lijo P Thomas, Financial administrator accompanied by Dr. shreedhar P D and Mr. Manjunath S visited the camp site and appreciated the volunteers for their dedication, commitment and working selflessly for the greater good. Dr.Venkatachalapathy, associate professor, Dept. of Agronomy, of GKVK College addressed villagers about Dry irrigation where farmers gained knowledge on the practical approach on cultivation through dry irrigation.
On 13th of Dec, a Valedictory ceremony was held to appreciate the students who won in sports and also to thank the villagers for their constant support. This camp not only helped in development of the village and its people but also inculcated the spirit of team work, honesty and hard work among the Jayantians.
