The Department of Computer Science (PG) conducted the power skill workshop for the III & V Semester MCA students on “Unleash Your Potential” to improve on personality development (how to be successful in life). Mr. Sreejith Krishnan, Manager – Learning and Development, RR Donnelley, Bangalore was the Resource person.
The session was started by explaining how a person can be successful in life by improving personal power i.e., how you influence yourself and how you influence others.
He then moved to by explaining the seven principles that must be followed by every individual for being successful. He explained each principle in detail and gave some examples and played some inspiring videos. The session was active for two hours by playing some simple games.
He spoke about the seven principles; the first one was "Power of Responsibility", where an individual must focus on how he responds to an event. We must be result focus rather than reason focus. The second principle was about "Power of Belief", how you believe in yourself and have a proper mindset. If there is a change in belief system we could get improved results and he also explained about mirroring technique and encouraged in doing things that we are scared of.
The third was the "Power of Goal Setting", he gave a success formula on setting a goal and how we can accomplish that goal. RPM (Result – Purpose – Massive Plan). Fourth was "Power of Excellence", the way we could improve our value and choosing the best that we could get. This improves the quality and standard of the person. While explaining these principles he played some videos and some famous quotes. The fifth principle was the “Power of Service”, we must add value to others and add values to ourselves and how we must treat others, share our knowledge with others. The sixth principle was “Power of Identity”, we must be unique from others and how we should improve our skills and create a brand of own this is help us identify us with some unique set of attributes. The aim was to think different and never follow the crowd. The last principle was “Power of Passion”, the last one was most interesting part of the seven principle “LIVE WITH PASSION”, one must follow his passion and do things that he loves the most this would help us to succeed in life.
Mr. Sreejith Krishnan, expressed his happiness about the participants’ involvement and dedication and wished everyone to practice all the seven principles. Prof. R. Kumar the Head of Dept. expressed his gratitude with a memento and thanked Mr. Sreejith Krishnan.
Students were enlightened and motivated from the session; there was active participation from the students.
