Virtuoso, the annual, intra collegiate management workshop organised by the third years for the first years, this year, saw the theme ‘’The Avengers” with a mind-set to give a first-hand experience to important managerial aspects.
This year, the focus was on teamwork and students were segregated into 16 teams of 15 members each and finally tested on events such as Best Manager, Marketing. Human Resources, Business Quiz and Finance.
Virtuoso began on the 6th of July with the preliminary round for Business Quiz. After the preliminary round, 6 teams moved to the finals which happened on the 7th. In Business Quiz, the teams were tested on logos of companies, tag lines, products and so on. The 7th of July also saw the Finance finale where the teams were given the task to analyse the downfall of Rupee in the world economy.
On the 8th of July, the Best Manager participants were given the task of preparing their curriculum vitae and a creative resume video for which a preliminary round took place on the 9th of July.
On the final day, i.e. the 10th of July, Mr. Vinod Joseph, teacher in charge for the workshop gave a brief introduction to Virtuoso and Rev. Fr. Augustine George addressed the gathering during the inauguration ceremony. He spoke about how demanding today’s world is in terms of expectancy and therefore the need for teamwork to achieve better results.
After the formal program, the final rounds started with Human Resources event. Here, the teams analysed, cracked and presented solutions to HR risk cases. After the HR event, Marketing finale saw the teams take on product launch emphasising around the 4Ps of Marketing.
The last event, final round of Best Manager saw 6 finalists vying to be the Best Manager. They were given the task to don Yedurappa, the scandalous ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka.
After the finale of every event, the felicitation program was graced by Rev. Fr. Lijo P Thomas, the Financial Administrator of the college who addressed the gathering on importance of teamwork. Mrs. Prachi Shakya, the other teacher in charge for the workshop gave a brief report of the workshop after which the winners were felicitated. Team Thor and team Black Panthers were felicitated as the overall winners and runners up respectively. Mr. Hannan Ahmed was adjudged the Best Manager.
