Creatrix, the Life sciences exhibition is one of the most awaited events of the department. It provides a platform for students to learn and understand theoretical concepts as they are transformed into working or static models. There were about 50 exhibits presented by the students who were grouped into teams of 3. The models were based on various branches of Life science subjects such Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Immunology, Human Physiology etc.
The participants were able to simplify complex concepts into simple understandable models that helped the viewers get an outline of the topic presented. Topics such as Diabetes, Anatomy of Body Organs, Biofertilizers, Bioreactors, Nervous System, Zika virus, DNA, RNA etc etc. were presented. The exhibits also helped convey various applications of basic science in day to day life. The students worked efficiently with inexpensive and waste materials to build their models. They were also able to co-operate and work together as a team. Overall, It was an enriching experience for both the Students and the Viewers.The viewers were impressed with the models and explanation delivered by the participants and were able to learn something new.
