During the late 1990s, the majority of higher education institutions within Bangalore were predominantly located in the southern and eastern regions of the city. Conversely, the northern part of Bangalore District remained largely semi-urban and rural, characterized by a notable deficiency in educational infrastructure and industrial development. To foster a robust academic ecosystem and to catalyze positive socio-economic transformation within this geographically underserved area, the university was established at K Narayanapura, Kothanur.
The Kristu Jayanti had a humble beginning with 1 course, 9 students, and 3 faculty members has exponentially grown with 15000+ students and offers 40 Undergraduate and 23 Postgraduate Programmes. The university has four recognised research centres in the field of Bio-technology, Commerce, Psychology and Management.
