M.Sc Biochemistry

M.Sc. Biochemistry programme is a two year programme spanning across 4 semesters providing an in-depth understanding of the chemical processes underlying biological systems. Biochemistry has a central role in life sciences and biochemical approaches are often fundamental in illuminating the causes of diseases and has created conceivable outcomes for new pharmaceutical products and therapeutic practices that will impact the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human ailments. The programme nurtures scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and technical expertise through research empowerment seminars, skill enhancement programme, workshops. Research abilities, analytical methods, and practical laboratory training with contemporary equipment are prioritized along with submission of a discipline specific project.

By encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific creativity, the curriculum equips students to take on challenges in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and agricultural sectors and to pursue doctoral research or academic jobs in biological sciences.

Eligibility
Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognised University with an aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST candidates) from a recognised University are eligible. The candidate should have studied Biochemistry or Chemistry as major or allied.
