Overview of the Ph.D. Selection Process

Two-Stage Selection Process
The Ph.D. admissions at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) follow a rigorous two-stage selection process designed to identify candidates with strong research potential, academic excellence, and discipline-specific expertise.


  Stage 1: Kristu Jayanti University Entrance Test (KJUET)

  Test Structure:

  • Part A (50% weightage): Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Research Aptitude & Methodology
  • Part B (50% weightage): Discipline-specific

  Qualifying Criteria:

  • General category candidates: Minimum 50% marks
  • Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Differently-abled): Minimum 45% marks

  Exemption: Candidates holding UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, SLET, or equivalent qualifications are exempt from KJUET
  but must still appear for the personal interview.


  Stage 2: Personal Interview

  Assessment Criteria:

  • Research proposal presentation
  • Research aptitude and methodological understanding
  • Subject knowledge

  Final Selection Criteria

  • KJUET Score: 70% weightage
  • Interview Performance: 30% weightage

  The final merit list is prepared based on the final score, and admissions are offered to candidates in order
  of merit within the available seats for each discipline.
