B.Sc. Computer Science, Mathematics (CSMM)

The Dual Major B.Sc. Programme in Computer Science and Mathematics offers students an integrated academic experience that combines the analytical depth of mathematics with the technological and problem-solving skills of computer science. The programme equips students with a strong foundation in mathematical theory, logical reasoning, algorithms, and computational methods, preparing them for advanced studies and careers in data science, artificial intelligence, cryptography, software development, and research.

Computer Science is an exciting, growing, challenging field that has revolutionized the world over the years. It has changed the very face of the society. It has found wide range of applications in different spheres of life which includes communications, automotive technology, manufacturing, weather forecasting, medicine, pharmacology, forensics, disaster recovery, security, law, business, entertainment, etc. With an overwhelming increase in the widespread usage and popularity, computer education has become inevitable for the common man.

Owing to the fact that information technology has made an impression in every discipline, students acquire solid foundation through this programme which paves way for career in multifaceted disciplines.

Mathematics is a fundamental part of human thought and logic and integral to attempts at understanding the world and ourselves. It is a diverse discipline that deals with data, measurements and observations from science, with inference, deduction, and proof, and with mathematical models of natural phenomena of human behaviour and of social systems. Mathematics provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages logical reasoning and mental rigor. Mathematics is applied in various fields and disciplines like science, engineering, economics and helps in understanding subjects like music and art too.
