DataSphere Club
Data Sphere Club is the technical club of the Department of Computer Science dedicated to fostering knowledge, innovation, and practical skills in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Programming. The club serves as a platform to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements through hands-on training, expert interactions, technical competitions, and collaborative learning. It aims to create awareness of emerging technologies, enhance students' analytical and problem-solving abilities, encourage innovation and research, promote project-based learning, and develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, thereby preparing students for successful careers in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The club organizes several activities during the academic year, including:
- Induction Session to introduce first-year students to the club's vision, activities, and opportunities.
- Guest Lecture Programme by industry professionals on current technologies and career prospects.
- Hands-on Training on Data Visualization Tools to develop practical skills using modern visualization software and techniques.
- VizQuest Programme, a technical competition that encourages students to solve real-world data visualization and analytical challenges.
- Expert Talk Programme featuring professionals from industry to discuss emerging technologies, industry expectations, and career pathways.
- Study Jam on Python, where senior students mentor juniors through collaborative coding sessions, strengthening Python programming fundamentals.
- Coding Quest Programme, a coding competition designed to enhance logical thinking, programming skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Through these initiatives, the Data Sphere Club provides students with continuous opportunities to develop technical proficiency, industry readiness, and research aptitude. From Data to Dashboards: An Introduction to Power BI

The Department of Computational Studies, in collaboration with the Data Sphere Club, organized an expert talk on Power BI. The session aimed to introduce students to Power BI and its applications in data analysis, visualization, and informed decision-making.
The resource person for the event was Ms. R Lekha, Power BI Developer, Data Semantics Pvt. Ltd. She provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of Power BI, highlighting its key features and practical applications in the field of data analytics.
The session also included a hands-on component, where students were guided through the process of working with datasets and creating their own interactive Power BI dashboards. Ms. Lekha encouraged students to actively explore the platform and apply the concepts covered during the session.
