The Art of the Unspoken: Mastering the Stag

The Department of Computer Applications, Kristu Jayanti University (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, in association with the Centre for Soft Skills and Aptitude Training (CSSAT), organized a soft skills session titled “The Art of the Unspoken: Mastering the Stag” for students of I BCA Analytics-C, I BCA IoT and I BCA G on 09 September 2026. The session was led by Dr. Jeeva M, Assistant Professor, Department of English, who guided students on the importance of effective communication and confident stage presence.

The one-hour session focused on key aspects of verbal and non-verbal communication, including voice modulation, pace, posture, eye contact, facial expressions and gestures. Through interactive activities and simple examples, students explored how communication goes beyond words and how body language and expressions can make their message more effective and engaging.

The session also highlighted the importance of understanding the speaker, topic, audience, occasion and key points while preparing for a presentation. Students were encouraged to actively participate in stage activities and develop greater confidence while addressing an audience.

The programme provided students with an engaging and practical learning experience, helping them strengthen their communication, presentation and audience-engagement skills. The session successfully encouraged students to express themselves with confidence and understand that effective communication is not only about what we say, but also how we say it.
