The Department of Computer Science at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) has a proud legacy spanning over two decades and is recognised as one of the top departments in the nation and the state for its BCA and B. Sc programme. At the national level, the department has secured the 4th position, and at the Bengaluru level, it is ranked 3rd among colleges. Established in 1999, the department has been a cornerstone of the university, offering a wide range of multidisciplinary programmes and specializations including Analytics, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML), Quantum Computing, Blockchain, Gaming and Multimedia.
The department follows an industry-relevant curriculum aligned with contemporary standards, developed through a structured academic process. These bodies include subject experts, alumni, and industry professionals, ensuring that students develop strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, teamwork, innovation, and adaptability.
To keep pace with rapid technological advancements, the department actively runs the Computer Academy Club, with over 2500 members, organising guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits, intra- and inter-collegiate fests, science exhibitions, and community-based activities. In addition, extension initiatives such as the Social Outreach Programme (SOP) and Computer Literacy Programme (CLP) instil social responsibility and encourage students to contribute meaningfully to society.
