Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity: Hands-On Learning for the Future”
Date: 17 to 22 November 2025
The Department of Computer Science, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be) University, organized a six-day AICTE–ATAL sponsored Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity: Hands-on Learning for the Future” from 17–22 November 2025. The FDP featured ten expert-led sessions covering advanced and emerging areas in cybersecurity. On 17 November, Dr. Shyam R, Assistant Professor, Presidency College, Bengaluru, delivered two sessions on the role of ethical hacking in strengthening cryptographic security followed by a hands-on session on cryptanalysis. On 18 November, Mr. Niman S, Research Associate, KUDSIT, Kerala, conducted sessions on offensive and defensive cybersecurity basics and a hands-on workshop on password cracking, credential harvesting, forensic fundamentals, incident response, and log analysis. On 19 November, Dr. Aruna M G, Professor, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, led sessions on AI and ML for cybersecurity and a hands-on module on AI-based network anomaly detection. On 20 November, Mr. Nikhil V Chandran, Research Engineer, Kerala Blockchain Academy, introduced enterprise blockchain security, followed by a hands-on Hyperledger Fabric session by Ms. Soya Chandra C.S, R&D Engineer, Kerala Blockchain Academy. On 21 November, Prof. Ramya B, Director, IQAC, Kristu Jayanti University, delivered a session on the significance of the Bharatiya Knowledge System, after which participants visited Sysfore Technologies, Koramangala, for industrial exposure. The FDP concluded on 22 November with a session by Ms. Gayathri S, Scientist E, CDAC Thiruvananthapuram, on cyber forensics and its applications. The programme successfully enriched participants with practical, industry-aligned cybersecurity skills, enabling them to integrate emerging technologies into teaching, research, and professional practice.

Faculty Development Program on Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate
Date: 14 to 18 July 2025
The Department of Computer Science (UG), in collaboration with ICT Academy, organised five-days Faculty Development Programme on Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate from July 14 to July 18, 2025. Ms. Sumathi Jeevanandham, experienced facilitator from ICT Academy known for her interactive and engaging style, led the FDP, inspiring participants with her expertise, conducting lab exercises, activities and insights. This FDP was tailored for the faculty of the various departments from various Arts & Science and Engineering colleges at Bangalore and Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). The event aimed to enhance participants' understanding of data visualization, business intelligence, and the effective use of Microsoft Power BI. Sessions included hands-on training, practical exercises, and interactive discussions, providing a comprehensive learning experience in building insightful dashboards and data-driven reports.

ATAL Basic Faculty Development Programme on “Mastering the Frontier of Artificial Intelligence: Trends, Challenges, and Applications”

Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru, organized the AICTE sponsored ATAL Basic Faculty Development Programme on “Mastering the Frontier of Artificial Intelligence: Trends, Challenges, and Applications” from February 10 to 15, 2025. The event, hosted by the Department of Computer Science (UG), aimed to equip faculty members with AI expertise to bridge academia and industry while fostering AI-driven innovation in education and research.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Sivan Menon, Founder & CEO of Sangiti and Former CTO of GE Healthcare, who delivered an insightful address on the transformative impact of AI across industries. He highlighted the growing need for continuous reskilling among professionals to remain relevant in an AI-dominated era.Rev. Dr. Augustine George, Principal of Kristu Jayanti College, emphasized the crucial role of educators in shaping future innovators. He underscored the immense potential of AI while stressing the importance of ethical considerations and the irreplaceable role of human intelligence in its advancement.
Coordinated by Dr. Mary Jacob and Dr. Gopika S., the FDP witnessed the participation of 46 members from various institutions across Bengaluru. The programme provided a comprehensive learning experience through expert lectures, research discussions, case studies, industry visits, and hands-on sessions.The week-long FDP successfully facilitated knowledge exchange between academia and industry, ensuring that faculty members are well-equipped to integrate AI advancements into their teaching and research practices. Participants lauded the initiative, recognizing it as a crucial step toward AI-driven innovation in education.

Faculty Development Program on Mentoring Projects for Impact

The Department of Computer Science (UG), in collaboration with ICT Academy and TOOOPLE conducted a three-days Faculty Development Programme on Mentoring Projects for Impact from June 10 to June 12, 2024. Mr. Ashok Balakrishnan and Mr. Sairam Vepakoma, experienced facilitators from Tooople known for his interactive and engaging style, led the FDP, inspiring participants with his expertise, conducting activities and insights. This FDP was tailored for the faculty of the various departments from various Arts & Science and Engineering colleges at Bangalore and Kristu Jayanti College. The event aimed to enhance participants' understanding of mentoring, learning, how mentor benefits, and leadership traits. Sessions included hands-on training, activities, and interactive discussions, providing a comprehensive learning experience in projects mentoring.
