Special Privileges for Divyangjan Candidates

  • Students with temporary or permanent physical disabilities (e.g., fractures, neurological conditions, visual impairments) may be allowed a scribe upon submitting valid proof.
  • A medical certificate from a government hospital or registered medical practitioner must be submitted to the Controller of Examinations (CoE) well in advance for approval.
  • The request must be made in writing to the CoE/Deputy.CoE with supporting documents at least 7 days before the examination.
  • The request must clearly state the nature of the disability and the need for a scribe.
  • The scribe will be approved by the Examination Regulatory Council.
  • Scribe should be one academic grade below the candidate and not related or in the same discipline.
  • To avoid an unfair advantage, the scribe's qualification may be limited to a specific grade threshold, such as not more than 55% marks, or not more than one grade level higher for visually impaired candidates.
  • Students shall not be allowed to bring their own scribes without prior approval
  • Both the student and the scribe must sign a declaration form (Available in the Examination Office) stating that:
    • The scribe meets the eligibility criteria.
    • The student is availing of scribe assistance voluntarily and will abide by the rules.
  • The student and scribe will be seated in a separate room under the supervision of an invigilator.
  • Students availing of a scribe may be given 10 minutes of additional time per hour, depending on institutional policy.
  • The scribe is expected to maintain confidentiality and not assist the candidate in any unfair manner.
  • Scribe shall strictly write as narrated by the student and must not interpret or alter exam content.
  • Any misconduct or breach of confidentiality may result in disciplinary action, including cancellation of the exam script.
  • A copy of the medical certificate, scribe details, approval letter, and declaration form will be retained by the Examination Regulatory Council.
  • Special Privileges for sick Candidates

  • Students who are sick(non contagious disease) are permitted to take the examination in a isolated exam hall for special attention.
  • Students suffering from contagious diseases such as chickenpox, mumps, or conjunctivitis (Madras eye) are discouraged from taking up the examination.
