Computer literacy program is a social outreach program where the students of computer science department visit the nearby Government schools and teach basic computer fundamental concepts to the school children. Students repaired few systems in the lab and the computer lab was prepared for practical session. They conduct theory and practical sessions to the school children. This academic year (2019-20) the department conducted a certificate course for the students of Government Higher primary school, Kothanur.

The course consisted of Basic computers, MS-Paint, MS-word, Ms-powerpoint. It was a 30 hour course which was conducted every Saturday. Six students of the department visited the school every Saturday on a rotation basis and conducted the theory and practical sessions for the school children.

This year 54 students of class VII from Government higher primary School, kothanur, Bengaluru and 49 students of class VIII from Sri Siddhartha Srinivasa High School, Kothanur, Bengaluru attended the classes and were benefited. Finally an exam was conducted for the students.

Learning Outcome:
Students of the department were enlightened by the social responsibility towards the society. They had the opportunity to experience the teaching profession. Students also experienced the joy of knowledge sharing.

The college students took class for the high school students and thought the basic knowledge about computers and also highlighted the use of computers in everyday life. Students were enthusiastic to listen and asked many question related to computer & internet.

Learning Outcome:
Students of the department were enlightened by the social responsibility towards the society. Spreading the awareness of computer literacy and use of computer in everyday life.

The college students took class for the lower primary and higher primary government school students and thought the basic knowledge about computers.

Learning Outcome: Students of the department were enlightened by the social responsibility towards the society. After meeting the school children, our students realized how privileged they are and how they must stop complaining about small discomforts. Also, realized how the role of a teacher will help the students to shape the future of the students.

Date: 9th DEC 2015 and 10th DEC 2015
Computer literacy program is a social outreach program where the students of computer science department visit the nearby Government schools and teach basic computer fundamental concepts to the school children. They conduct theory and practical sessions to the school children.

This year 24 students of BCA & BSc visited three different schools on 9th DEC 2015 and 10th DEC 2015 and conducted the program.

• Govt Lower primary School, K.Narayanapura, Bangalore

The college students took class for the lower primary and higher primary government school students and thought the basic knowledge about computers. The head of the institution gave feedback about the conduction of the program and they were happy and satisfied by the way program was organized and executed. They also felt that these types of programs will help the young children to learn computers and will encourage them for their further studies in computers.
