BA Psychology, English Literature
The Bachelor’s programme in Psychology and English Literature offers an interdisciplinary foundation that deepens understanding of human behaviour, mental processes, and cognitive functions. The curriculum integrates fundamental, core, and elective courses spanning cognitive, clinical, developmental, social, organisational, and biological psychology. Students gain a balance of theoretical insight and practical application through research projects, internships, case studies, and community engagement. Opportunities for international exposure are available through student exchange and credit transfer programmes at partner universities.
The programme sharpens analytical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills while fostering communication, empathy, teamwork, and ethical sensitivity. Field visits and applied assignments bridge classroom learning with real-world challenges, preparing students for diverse roles in counselling, human resources, clinical research, neuropsychology, mental health services, and educational or forensic settings. The final-year thesis or capstone project consolidates learning into professional practice. Graduates emerge with strong cognitive and interpersonal skills, ready for postgraduate studies or careers requiring expertise in psychological assessment, research, and holistic mental health advocacy.
The BA is a three year degree programme. However, as per the provisions of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020), a student may continue into the fourth year and earn a B.Sc Honours degree.
