Field Visit to NTTF Bengaluru - Electronic City Campus

The field visit to NTTF Bengaluru - Electronic City Campus was organised on Friday, 19th December, for the students of IV MSc Psychology (Specialization in Industrial Psychology and HRM), accompanied by faculty coordinators Ms. Ann Mary Jacob and Mr. Sabarish R. The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and to help them understand industry-oriented training practices that complement their academic curriculum. Upon arrival, the students were given an introductory briefing about NTTF, its role in technical education, and its strong focus on skill development aligned with industry requirements. The students were then taken on a guided tour of various laboratories and workshops, where they observed modern manufacturing equipment, precision machining processes, and automation systems.
In addition, the students attended an orientation session on NTTF’s new certificate course in Excel and Power BI, where the importance of data analysis skills and their relevance in the current industry scenario were explained. Experts highlighted how these tools support decision-making and enhance employability. The visit enabled students to gain firsthand knowledge of industry standards, practical applications, and emerging skill requirements. A total of 20 students were the beneficiaries of this field visit. Overall, the visit was highly informative and beneficial, successfully bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical industrial exposure.

Field Visit to St. Norbert School

A field visit to St. Norbert School was organised for the IV Semester, MSc Counselling Psychology students of School Counselling elective paper. The purpose of the visit was to help the students to understand the role of the school counsellor and the process of school counselling. During the visit, the students got to know about the sources of referrals to counselling in schools, the counselling process in a school setting, the role of the counsellor, communication with teachers, parents, and school management, therapy models commonly used, making referrals for further evaluation and follow-up, ethical considerations in school counselling, maintaining confidentiality and maintaining boundaries. All the students were very happy about the session as it was very useful in understanding the process of counselling in schools.

Field Visit to AIISH
Date:10 December 2025
The Department of Psychology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed To Be University), organised a field visit to the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru on December 10, 2025, with 163 IVth Semester M.Sc. Clinical Psychology students as part of the Child and Adolescent Intervention course. The visit commenced with an orientation session on AIISH, its services, and key concepts related to communication, hearing, and language disorders. Students gained insight into assessment and intervention approaches for children and adolescents. In the afternoon, students visited the Department of Clinical Services, observed OPD cases, and explored the Departments of Audiology and Special Education. The visit provided meaningful experiential learning and enhanced understanding of multidisciplinary clinical practice.

Industrial Visit to BEML

The Department of Psychology under the School of Humanities and Social Science organised an Industrial Visit for M.Sc. III Semester students to BEML Limited, Bengaluru on 30th September 2025, to gain practical exposure to organizational psychology within a real-world industrial environment. There were 33 Industrial specialization students who were the part of this visit. During the visit, students toured major production units, attended session led by Mr. Kumar H P, Assistant General Manager, Human Resources, BEML Limited. The students also observed the company's employee management practices, safety protocols, and daily operations. These interactions provided a comprehensive understanding of how psychological principles are applied in areas such as team dynamics, motivation, and workforce management within a large-scale industry setting.
The visit proved highly beneficial for bridging academic learning with industry practice, enabling students to witness first-hand the challenges and opportunities present in industrial organizations. Through engaging discussions and direct observation, students deepened their appreciation of the relevance of psychology in workplace settings and enhanced their readiness for professional roles in organizational and industrial psychology.
