Valedictory Ceremony - IOA Certification Programme

The Department of Professional Management Studies successfully organised the Valedictory Ceremony for the IOA (Institute of Analytics, UK) Certification Programme completed by the students of BBA Business Analytics (Batch 2022–2025) on 10th April 2025 at M4 Auditorium.

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Dr. Sheetal Mahendher, Head of Academics – Analytics, ISDC Global, who delivered an inspiring address to the students. The event was graced by Mr. Calvin Fredy Paul, Regional Head – ISDC Karnataka, who encouraged the students to pursue lifelong learning and global certifications.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Aloysius Edward J, Dean & Professor, Faculty of Commerce and Management, who played a pivotal role in initiating and driving the success of the IOA programme in the department.

The event also witnessed the distribution of certificates to the students who successfully completed the course. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Dr. Jisha VG, Head, Department of Professional Management Studies, and Dr. Subha B, Coordinator – Business Analytics.

The ceremony began with an invocation song, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Mohammed Saad Sarfaraz, Student Coordinator. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Subha B, who extended her appreciation to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their support and active participation.

The event marked a proud moment for the department and celebrated the commitment of students toward upskilling and academic excellence.


Professor of Practice (POP)

On February 10, 2025, Mr. Tom Philip, Risk Consultant at Oracle Financial Services, conducted a Professor of Practice (POP) session for second-year BBA Business Analytics students. The session, titled "Mastering Forecasting Techniques: Time Series Analysis and Predictive Modeling for Stock Exchange Data," provided students with practical insights into advanced forecasting methodologies used in financial markets.

Mr. Philip introduced the fundamental concepts of time series analysis, emphasizing its significance in understanding stock market trends and making data-driven predictions. He explained key techniques such as moving averages, exponential smoothing, and ARIMA models, demonstrating their real-world applications in financial forecasting.

The session also covered predictive modeling, highlighting its role in risk assessment and decision-making within stock markets. Mr. Philip presented practical case studies to illustrate how predictive analytics helps investors and financial institutions mitigate risks and identify profitable opportunities.

Data Quest - Hands on training on SQL & PYTHON

The Department of Professional Management Studies on 6th February 2025 organized a hands-on training session on SQL and Python, conducted by Dr. Aadi Puttaswamy Thimmappa, Trainer and Founder of ITECH Analytics Solutions, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The session was divided into two parts, with each subject receiving focused, practical instruction. Participants gained valuable insights into SQL fundamentals, query optimization, and database management, followed by hands-on Python coding, including working with data types, functions, and libraries like Pandas and NumPy. Dr. Thimmappa’s interactive teaching style ensured participants developed both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, leaving the session confident and ready to apply their newfound abilities in real-world scenarios

In conclusion, the hands-on training session on SQL and Python, organized by the Department of Professional Management Studies and led by Dr. Aadi Puttaswamy Thimmappa, proved to be an enriching experience for all participants. With his expertise as Trainer and Founder of ITECH Analytics Solutions, Dr. Thimmappa provided invaluable insights into both subjects, enhancing participants' practical skills and confidence. The interactive nature of the session fostered an engaging learning environment, empowering attendees to apply their knowledge in real-world applications. Data Quest 2024
Date: 08 to 10 January 2024
Data Quest, hosted by the Department of Professional Management Studies, united students from diverse domains to foster collaborative learning. This event is exclusive to 1st and 2nd-year students where Participants will have the opportunity to unravel the mysteries of data analytics specific to their industries of interest, gaining valuable insights that can reshape their approach to problem-solving and decision-making. In essence, Data Quest seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, empowering participants to navigate the complex world of business analytics and make meaningful contributions to the industries they are passionate about.
