Value Added Course - Mastertering Personal Success

The Department of Professional Management Studies conducted Value-added course for first year professional management students, from 07/08/2024 to 14/08/2024, on the topic Mastering personal success which was an insightful and transformative experience. Designed to equip students with essential skills for both personal and professional growth, the course focused on three pivotal areas: Building Your Personal Brand, Time Management and Professional Success, and Enhancing Personal Wellbeing.

The first segment of the course emphasized the importance of personal branding in today’s competitive landscape. Students learned how to identify their unique strengths, values, and passions, and how to effectively communicate these attributes to others. Through interactive workshops, they explored the significance of a consistent personal brand and were guided on how to leverage social media, networking, and public speaking to enhance their visibility and influence. This session aimed to empower students to build a brand that reflects their true selves, thereby setting the foundation for long-term professional success.

The second module of the course was dedicated to mastering time management—a crucial skill for any aspiring professional. Students were introduced to various time management techniques, such as the Eisenhower Matrix, Pomodoro Technique, and prioritization strategies. They participated in exercises that highlighted the importance of setting clear goals, breaking them down into manageable tasks, and maintaining focus amidst distractions. The session also addressed the role of discipline and consistency in achieving professional milestones. By the end of this module, students had developed personalized time management plans, better preparing them for the demands of their academic and future professional lives.

The final segment of the course focused on enhancing personal wellbeing, recognizing that success is not just about professional achievements but also about maintaining a healthy balance in life. Students explored the concepts of mental health, stress management, and work-life balance. The session included mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, and discussions on the importance of self-care. Students were encouraged to reflect on their personal wellbeing and to implement daily practices that promote mental and emotional health. This segment aimed to instill a holistic approach to success, where personal wellbeing is seen as integral to professional growth.


Value Added Course - Relational Communication
Date: 23 to 30 July 2023
The Department of Professional Management Studies (PMS) organized a Value-Added Course (VAC) on Relational Communication for the third-year BBA PMS students from 23/07/2024 to 30/07/2024. This course aimed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge in relational communication, enabling them to understand, apply, and enhance communication dynamics within both personal and professional relationships. The course was divided into three key units: Fundamentals of Relational Communication, Communication Strategies in Relationships, and Cross-Cultural Communication, Group Discussion, and Interview Skills. These units covered a wide range of topics, from building trust and managing power dynamics to adapting communication strategies to different cultural contexts. PMS faculty members employed various teaching methods to engage students effectively, including role-plays, group discussions, and skill development activities. These activities allowed students to draft communication plans, demonstrate empathy through role-playing, and create digital communication guides, among other tasks. By the end of the course, students gained a deep understanding of relational communication concepts and developed the ability to apply effective communication strategies in various relational contexts. This comprehensive learning experience provided students with critical communication skills essential for success in both their personal and professional lives.


Value Added Course (VAC) on Academic Writing and Publication Ethics
Date: 23 to 30 July 2024
The Department of Professional Management Studies (PMS) organized a Value-Added Course (VAC) on Academic Writing and Publication Ethics for the third-year BBA PMS students from July 23 to July 30, 2024. The course on Academic Writing and Publication Ethics was designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental research principles, while also addressing critical ethical considerations in academic research. The course objectives focused on equipping students with the basic understanding necessary for conducting research, exploring ethical issues related to authorship, collaboration, and peer review.


Value Added Course - Start Up Management
Date: 25 August 2023
The Department of Professional Management Studies (PMS) provided Start – up Management Course as a Value addition to Second year BBA PMS Students in order to understand the concept of a start-up, identify the required strategic resources and entrepreneurial strategies in developing entrepreneurship competencies. This course was exclusively offered for the second year BBA PMS students. All the sessions were handled by faculty members belonging to the department and the class sessions were allotted based on the preferences given by them on the course.

Faculties used various methods during their classroom session for keeping the students engaged like Skill development activities, presentation, government scheme discussion etc with enhanced better learning experience to students during the class. During the sessions students gained knowledge on the various government schemes, basis of needs for start-up management and women entrepreneurs. As an outcome of VAC course students were formed into teams and were asked to come out with a business plan the preliminary screening of the Business plan competition took place in the respective classrooms on 2nd August 2023, the teams from each class were shortlisted and the final presentation of the Business plan titled “Pinnacle Pursuit – B3” was held on 25th August 2023.


Corporate Ettiquettes
Date: 02 & 09 August 2023
Department of Professional Management Studies offered value added course on Corporate Etiquettes for the I BBA Professional Management Studies Students from 02/08/2023 to 9/08/2023. This value added course is customized with the objective to make the students industry ready. The syllabus is also designed in such a way to attain the objective in the effective manner. The courses content consists of theoretical and skill developmental aspects to enrich the student’s knowledge. The courses are handled by the department faculties and allotted the class for each faculties based on their preference given on the topics. This course was scheduled from Wednesday (02/08/2023 ) to Wednesday (09/08/23) between 9.00 AM to 04.30 PM with frequent interval between the sessions. It is essential for every student to behave in a socially acceptable way. Etiquette refers to good manners which helps a student leave his/her mark in the society. An student must know how to behave at the workplace. There is a huge difference between college and professional life. One needs to be disciplined at the workplace.
