Vichaarmanthan meaning churning of ideas is an interactive program organized by Kristu Jayanti College on December 17, 2020, where students gain knowledge from experienced experts, who address the students on various domains from the world. Keeping such an objective, making future leaders optimistic in their situations, this platform encourages students to utilize the opportunities that the world offers them with their competencies. The session began with Dr. Fr. Augustine George (Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore) addressing the gathering on the virtual platform. Prof. Sen B Mathews (Director, Centre for employability and corporate relation, Kristu Jayanti College) formally proposed the welcome address.

For the 43rd edition of Vichaarmanthan, we had Shri. B Thiagarajan (Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd.) Sir completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics degree from Madurai University, India. He completed a Senior Executive Program at the London Business School in 2006. He has over three decades of experience, having worked for L & T, BPL, and Voltas prior to joining Blue Star. Sir started his career in Blue star ltd., in the year 1998 to manage the marketing support services and customer service functions. He soon assumed responsibility for Corporate Communications and Marketing where he played a significant role in building the image and brand equity of Blue Star. Over the years sir took additional charge of the Service Business operations of Blue Star, and then of Corporate Affairs & Planning.

Shri. B Thiagarajan was elevated to President of the Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Products Group in 2009. Under his leadership, the AC&R products business of the Company has grown significantly in terms of volumes and profitability. He is also a Member of the National Council of Agriculture of CII, Chairman of the CII National Task Force on Cold Chain Development, and Executive Committee Member of the Indian Green Building Council. Sir shared his early childhood memories growing up in Tamilnadu and how he was raised in a middle-class family but always believed in dreaming about big things in life. He always followed and believed in the power of “dreaming”. He motivated and encouraged students to dream and work hard towards achieving and fulfilling those dreams. He also shared his failure stories in order to encourage understanding that no matter how much ever downfall you experience in your life, there is always something better that’s kept for everyone/and to make them understand that no matter how many failures you experience in your life, there is always something better that’s meant for everyone.

He also talked about his work experience with L&T and Tata Voltas from his early career days and how he switched to Blue star Ltd. He talked about a few core values like innovation, creativity, and self-confidence that kept him moving forward in his career. He emphasised on the power these values create in the lives of an individual and encouraged the students to cultivate these thoughts and values in their lives for moving ahead. He also talked about how one should follow their passion in their life because ultimately that’s what brings individual happiness and success. He also shared his thoughts regarding how spirituality brings joy and peace to an individual and the power of prayers which helps an individual to overcome every situation that’s put forward in front of them. He also addressed various questions that were put forward by the student at the end of the session. The session was formally wrapped with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr, MK Baby (Head of Kristu Jayanti School of Management).
