Anti-Ragging Week 2026
Date: 10 to 14 August 2026
The Department of Professional Management Studies, led by the Prayas Extension Team, organised Anti-Ragging Week from 10th to 14th August 2026 for all first-year students, in line with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions. The week-long programme was designed to build sustained awareness through a mix of pledge-taking, creative expression and interactive learning activities.
The week began on 10th August with Anti-Ragging Pledge, in which all first-year students formally committed to upholding a ragging-free and inclusive campus culture. On 11th August, a Poster Making Competition was conducted, giving students a creative platform to express anti-ragging messages and values of dignity and respect. On 12th August, an Anti-Ragging Quiz was organized to test and reinforce students' knowledge of anti-ragging regulations, helpline numbers and grievance redressal mechanisms available to them.
On 13th August, students performed a Mime Event depicting the emotional and psychological impact of ragging on victims and the importance of bystander responsibility, communicating the message powerfully through a non-verbal medium. Through this sustained week-long engagement, Kristu Jayanti University reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on ragging, reinforcing among its first-year students a shared commitment to dignity, safety and inclusion on campus. By combining formal commitment with creative expression, the Anti-Ragging Week not only strengthened students' awareness of institutional safeguards and grievance redressal mechanisms but also nurtured a culture of empathy and collective responsibility — ensuring that the university's founding values of respect and fraternity remain central to campus life.
