The five-year integrated Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws B.Com LL.B.(H) programme at School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University, Bengaluru is the combination of commerce and law to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education. This course is designed to achieve excellence in commerce alongside in-depth legal knowledge, aligning with the institution's vision of promoting integrated learning. It prepares students for a wide range of professional trajectories, including litigation, academia, entrepreneurship, corporate law, civil services, international legal practice, alternative dispute resolution. The curriculum is aligned with the guidelines provided by the Bar Council of India.
The curriculum integrates diverse and contemporary law courses with foundational commerce courses enabling students to acquire interdisciplinary expertise. In addition to core legal courses, the program includes subjects such as Business Environment, Financial Accounting, Principles and Practice of Management, Corporate Accounting, International Business, Cost Accounting, Marketing and Services Management, and Production and Operations Management. These subjects are tailored to meet the evolving needs of India's fast-growing economy, particularly in light of the increasing presence of multinational corporations and the corresponding demand for legal managers.
The programme places significant emphasis on professional ethics, social responsibility and the development of competencies essential for a successful legal career. Training in research and analytical reasoning, problem-solving, legal drafting and public affairs comprehension is an integral part of the programme. Furthermore, it cultivates leadership qualities and underscores the social relevance of law, encouraging students to utilise their legal expertise as a tool for social transformation.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary (10+2 / PUC) or Equivalent with an aggregate of 40% or an equivalent CGPA are eligible.
