Workshop on “Prevention of Gender-Based Violence: Legal and Social Perspectives”

The School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), in association with the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru organised a One-day Workshop on “Prevention of Gender-Based Violence: Legal and Social Perspectives” for 5th year students of Law on 21st September 2026. The programme featured an inaugural session and three technical sessions addressing the legal and social dimensions of gender-based violence. Prof. (Dr.) Sairam Bhat, NLSIU, discussed violence against children and the need for stronger legal safeguards. Adv. Prateek Kamath, Associate, Rex Law Chambers, examined violence against women across different stages of life, including emerging forms of digital violence. Adv. Gayathri Gireesh, Consultant, CEERA-NLSIU, addressed pregnancy-related crimes and associated concerns. The programme also witnessed the brochure release of the Prof. V.S. Mallar Memorial National Legal Aid Lawyering Competition 2026-2027. The workshop concluded with an assessment and recognition of outstanding participants.

Workshop on Road Safety and Life Safety

A Road Safety and Life Safety Workshop was conducted by TTRI, Bengaluru, for School of Law students on 03 February 2026, focusing on road safety and traffic awareness. The programme was organised in view of the increasing number of road accidents and aimed to sensitise students towards responsible road behaviour and essential life-saving practices. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)
