Visit to Karnataka Mediation Centre

The session started at 11.00 AM which was addressed by a senior advocate Adv. Biju V with 32 years of standing at the bar. He spoke to the students about the history of ADR in India and its growing importance in the legal fraternity. He addressed the students on why it was important for a law student to learn the techniques of mediation. In his speech he brought the difference between mediation, conciliation and arbitration. The learned advocate also discussed few important case laws which were landmark in the area of ADR. Through an interactive walkthrough of the facilities, students observed firsthand how a mediation centre’s physical layout is designed to reduce tension and encourage open dialogue. Sir highlighted the essential soft skills required for successful mediation, including active listening, emotional intelligence, and empathy. Students learned how a mediator must look past a party's rigid positions to uncover their underlying interests and needs. Ultimately, the visit demonstrated how collaborative problem-solving serves as a highly efficient, time-saving, and relationship-preserving alternative to traditional litigation.

Visit to Karnataka Mediation Centre

As part of its commitment to experiential legal education, the School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University)organised an educational visit to the Karnataka Mediation Centre, Bengaluru, on 6 July 2026 for 43 students of the VIII Semester B.B.A., LL.B. under the Clinical Course-II: Alternative Dispute Resolution Systems. The visit featured an insightful session by Advocate Jayashri Sridhar, who introduced students to the practical dimensions of mediation, highlighting its voluntary, confidential, and collaborative nature as an effective alternative to litigation. Students were given a guided tour of the mediation centre, where they observed how the centre's infrastructure and environment are designed to promote constructive dialogue and amicable dispute resolution. The session emphasised the indispensable role of active listening, empathy, emotional intelligence, and interest-based negotiation in resolving conflicts, while demonstrating how mediators facilitate communication beyond the parties’ stated positions to identify their underlying interests. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to the functioning of institutional mediation, strengthened their understanding of ADR mechanisms, and reinforced the importance of communication and problem-solving skills in legal practice, making it a highly enriching learning experience.

Industrial Visit to the Titan Watches Division, Hosur

The School of Law organized an Industrial Visit to the Titan Watches Division, Hosur, for the II Semester B.Com LL.B students on 31st January 2026 as part of experiential learning under the academic curriculum. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to large-scale manufacturing operations, corporate functioning, quality management systems, and industrial compliance practices. During the visit, students were given a comprehensive overview of the watch manufacturing process, including component fabrication, movement assembly, dial and case fitting, precision calibration, and final quality testing. The officials explained the importance of lean manufacturing techniques, automation, time management systems, and stringent quality control measures adopted to maintain global standards. Students were also introduced to supply chain management practices, branding strategies, export operations, and workplace safety protocols. The interaction with industry professionals enabled students to understand the practical implications of corporate compliance, labour welfare measures, intellectual property protection, and ethical business practices.
