International Lecture Series on Cybersecurity and Networking

The Department of Computer Science (PG), School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru organized an International Lecture Series on “Cybersecurity and Networking” in collaboration with Kristu Jayanti Institute of Technology (KJIT) and Murray State University, USA on 07 March 2026 at 9:30 AM. The session was conducted online through Zoom. The resource person for the session was Dr. Hassan Mistareehi, Assistant Professor from the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, Murray State University, Kentucky, USA.
During the lecture, the speaker explained the concept of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), where vehicles communicate with each other and with roadside infrastructure to exchange information about traffic conditions, accidents, and road safety. He also discussed the security challenges involved in such networks, including false messages and privacy issues.
The session highlighted the importance of authentication, digital signatures, encryption, and privacy preservation in ensuring secure communication between vehicles. The lecture gave students an overview of how cybersecurity techniques are applied in intelligent transportation systems.
Overall, the session was informative and helped students gain a better understanding of cybersecurity and networking concepts.
