Celebration of International Women’s Day - Shevanta 2026

The SynHera Women’s Society of Kristu Jayanti Institute of Technology (KJIT) organized “Shevanta 2026” on 7 March 2026 at the M4 Auditorium to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event aimed to recognize the achievements of women and inspire students through discussions on career growth and empowerment.
The program began with a welcome and introduction of the distinguished guests: Ms. Pruthvi Shinde (Senior Manager – Zyoin), Ms. Shwetha Munegowda (Founder – Yujir Planet), Ms. Sowndarya Kuppuswamy (Manager – Aptos Pvt Ltd), Ms. Madhusmita Nayak (Security Risk Lead – IBM), Ms. Soundarya Venkatesh (Artist and Influencer), Ms. Shruti Mishra (Actor and Influencer), and Ms. Bhavana Singh (Business Analyst – Aliaxis).
One of the key highlights of the event was a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Libin Thomas, where the panelists shared insights about life choices, career goals, and challenges women often face in society and professional environments. It was emphasized that many social structures are still male-oriented, which sometimes causes women to hesitate or underestimate their abilities. The speakers encouraged students to believe in their potential and confidently pursue their ambitions. Another segment of the event featured success chronicles, where the speakers shared their personal journeys, career growth, and the difficulties they faced while achieving success. Their experiences highlighted the importance of determination and self-belief in building a successful career.
The event was coordinated by Faculty Coordinators Ms. Anju Pavithran and Ms. Aarti Mahapatro. The program concluded with a sapling presentation and memento distribution to the guests as a token of appreciation.
Overall, the event was inspiring and insightful, motivating students to embrace confidence and perseverance while working towards their goals.

Alumni Meet
Date: 28 February 2026
The Department of Computer Science (PG) organized the Alumni Meet on 28 February 2026 for the batches from 2004 to 2023.
The event featured a formal session where the Dean, Head of the Department, and Alumni Coordinator addressed the gathering. Alumni shared their experiences, reflecting on how the department shaped their academic and professional journeys, including placements, internships, and technical opportunities. Alumni Committee members were also selected to strengthen future engagement.
The informal session included games and cultural programs organized by junior students, creating a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere. The event concluded with a commitment to reconnect for the next alumni meet.

Scientific Exploration 2026

The Department of Computer Science (PG), Kristu Jayanti University, organized Scientific Exploration 2026 on 23 February 2026 at the PG Block in commemoration of National Science Day.
The event aimed at nurturing scientific temperament, innovation, and collaborative learning among students. The programme witnessed active participation and enthusiastic engagement, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere throughout the day.
The celebration featured three major competitions designed to blend creativity, technology, and analytical thinking: Quantum Arena – A team-based gaming challenge that tested strategy, coordination, and rapid decision-making skills.
Pixels, Prompts & Particles – An AI-based photography and image prompting competition encouraging participants to translate creative ideas into visually compelling AI-generated outputs.
Lab Lockdown – An escape-room style scientific challenge where teams solved logical puzzles and decoded clues within a stipulated time frame.
The event successfully promoted experiential learning, innovation-driven thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It provided students with a platform to apply theoretical knowledge in practical, competitive scenarios while enhancing teamwork and problem-solving skills. Scientific Exploration 2026 stood as a meaningful initiative reflecting the Department’s continued commitment to academic excellence and technology-oriented learning

Session on Ctrl + She
Date: 11 February 2026
The Department of Computer Science (PG), School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University, in association with SynHera, the Women’s IT Society, organized a session titled “Ctrl + She” as part of a student engagement initiative. The session aimed to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and awareness of socially relevant issues. The activity was centred on the theme of Women Empowerment. Random participants were invited from the audience and asked to pick a topic related to the theme. Based on the selected topics, the participants were grouped accordingly and given time to discuss their ideas and viewpoints within their respective teams.
After the discussion phase, each group presented their key points and collective opinions before the audience. The participants confidently shared diverse perspectives, practical insights, and possible solutions to promote gender equality and empowerment. The activity provided a vibrant platform for open dialogue and constructive debate. It enhanced students’ communication skills, teamwork, and analytical thinking while fostering greater awareness about women empowerment. Overall, the session was engaging, insightful, and impactful for everyone involved.

Interview IT Quiz

The Department of Computer Science (PG) under Kristu Jayanti Institute of Technology (KJIT), Kristu Jayanti University, Bengaluru is organizing an Interview IT Quiz through the Data Bridge Society for II Semester M.Sc. Data Science students. Scheduled for 9th February 2026 at 3:30 PM in P207, PG Block, Ms.Sai Dhanya,II Msc DS, made this event to enhance students’ technical knowledge and interview preparedness by testing their understanding of key IT concepts, problem-solving skills, and industry-relevant topics. The quiz provides an engaging platform for participants to sharpen their competencies, build confidence, and get better prepared for upcoming technical interviews.

The Art of Prompt Engineering technical session

Kristu Jayanti Institute of Technology (KJIT), under Kristu Jayanti University, Bengaluru, successfully organized a technical session titled “The Art of Prompt Engineering” on 07/02/2026 at 12:00 pm at the SKE Auditorium, PG Block, 1st Floor.
The session was organized for the students of MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science, and Data Science. The program was facilitated by Mr. Vigneshwaran R (IV Semester MCA C) and Mr. Polimetla Sam Nissy (II Semester MCA A).
The session focused on introducing students to the fundamentals and practical importance of prompt engineering in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The facilitators explained how effective prompts can enhance the performance of large language models, discussed different prompting techniques, and demonstrated real-time examples. The session was interactive, encouraging active participation from students through discussions and queries.
The same number of students attended the session as in previous similar academic programs, and their participation reflected strong interest and enthusiasm. The event was informative and well received, helping students gain practical insights into emerging AI technologies.
