Orientation Session

The session began with a formal welcome address followed by an introduction of the resource person, Dr. D. Gokila, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science (PG). The orientation was specifically organised for I Semester MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science, and Data Science students to guide them on the significance and preparation pathway for UGC and CSIR NET/JRF examinations.
Dr. Gokila explained the eligibility criteria, exam structure, syllabus components, and the differences between UGC NET and CSIR NET. She elaborated on the importance of JRF, fellowship benefits, and opportunities in higher education and research.
The session included preparation strategies such as structured study plans, topic prioritization, reference materials, and solving previous-year question papers. Students actively participated in discussions and clarified doubts about building strong fundamentals and managing study schedules.
The orientation inspired and motivated students to consider national-level eligibility tests as part of their academic and career goals.

Master Your Mind: Managing Interview Stress with Confidence

A Life Skill Training Program titled “Master Your Mind: Managing Interview Stress with Confidence” was conducted on 31/10/2025 for the student of Department of Computer Science (PG). The session aimed to help students develop emotional resilience and self-confidence to perform effectively during interviews. The training was conducted by Dr. Angeline Prasanna G and Dr. Gayathri R, who shared valuable insights on understanding stress, identifying its triggers, and applying practical techniques to manage it. They emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, effective communication, and self-awareness in overcoming interview anxiety.
Through engaging discussions, relaxation exercises, and interactive activities, students learned how to remain calm under pressure and present themselves confidently. Real-life interview scenarios were also discussed to help participants understand the expectations of recruiters and improve their body language, tone, and articulation.
The session was highly informative and motivational, enabling students to gain both psychological and practical tools for success. It concluded with an interactive question and answer segment, where students clarified their doubts and shared their experiences. Overall, the training provided valuable guidance on developing emotional intelligence and confidence—essential qualities for professional growth and success.

National Level Students Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Scientific Advancement: From Theory to Application

The inaugural session of the event, held on 26th September 2025 at the SKE Auditorium, featured Mrs. M. Neelavathy, Deputy Director, ISRO Bengaluru, as the resource person. The session was graced by Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Vice Chancellor, Kristu Jayanti, Mrs. Neelavathy, and Mr. Rajendra Kumar K N, Associate Manager, Accenture. The dignitaries emphasized the significance of research-oriented learning and encouraged students to pursue innovative and impactful ideas. Fr. Dr. Augustine George highlighted the need to move beyond publications and focus on real-world applications of research, while Mrs. Neelavathy shared insights from her journey at ISRO, contrasting early manual circuit design practices with modern computational advancements. She motivated students to utilize available resources effectively and contribute meaningfully to science and society.
The keynote session, led by Mr. Rajendra Kumar K N, Associate Manager, Accenture, focused on the theme “Launching a Sustainable Startup.” He emphasized the importance of sustainability through the triple bottom line—people, planet, and profit. Encouraging students to develop scalable and responsible business models, he cited examples of companies like Tesla and Patagonia to illustrate how innovation and social responsibility can coexist. Mr. Rajendra urged aspiring entrepreneurs to solve real-world problems using technology, ecosystem support, and strategic funding opportunities.
In the technical session, Mr. L. Janardhan Rajan, Group Practice Head, Tech Mahindra, delivered a thought-provoking talk on “AI Through the Lens of Cognitive and Brain Sciences.” He highlighted the crucial link between cognitive science and artificial intelligence, emphasizing that true intelligence lies in the ability to adapt to one’s environment. Mr. Rajan addressed common misconceptions about AI and recommended reading Gödel, Escher, Bach to deepen understanding of intelligence and consciousness. He concluded by reflecting on the philosophical and ethical dimensions of AI research, urging students to maintain a balanced and pragmatic approach toward technological advancement. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a memento presentation to the speakers.
