Alumni Experience
Mr. Rohan
My journey in the Department of Professional Accounting and Finance has been truly meaningful. When I first joined, I lacked the confidence to even speak on stage, but today I am able to present myself confidently, all thanks to the constant guidance and support of my teachers. The department has not only helped me grow academically but has also shaped my personality and communication skills. Whatever I am today is because of the opportunities and encouragement given by this department, and I am genuinely grateful for it.
Ms. Chanaswini
Hi, I am Chanaswi, a former Secretary and proud alumna of the Department of Professional Accounting & Finance at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). My journey with the department has been truly transformative, extending far beyond academics. Through a wide array of fests, events, seminars, industrial visits, and international conferences, the department consistently creates a dynamic platform for holistic development. These experiences significantly strengthened my confidence, refined my oratory abilities, and enhanced my managerial and leadership skills. The faculty members are exceptionally supportive, highly knowledgeable, and deeply committed to mentoring students at every stage of their academic and professional journey. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my perspective and preparing me for real-world challenges. I was fortunate to secure a campus placement with a Big 4 firm, an achievement that reflects the strong academic foundation and exposure provided by the department. The department strongly emphasizes holistic development, constantly encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones and explore their true potential. It nurtures a culture of continuous improvement, where individuals are motivated to challenge themselves, take initiative, and strive for excellence. This supportive yet growth-oriented environment has played a significant role in shaping me into a more confident, capable, and resilient individual.
Mr. Aaron Thomas
Reflecting on my three years at Kristu Jayanti University, my journey was far more than just completing a degree— it was a phase where I truly discovered myself. What made it even more special was the trust and opportunities the department and college extended—giving me the chance to represent KJU at events and fests beyond campus. Those experiences exposed me to new environments, new competition, and pushed me to grow in ways I hadn’t imagined. The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance (DPAF) gave me a space where both quiet learning and high-energy experiences were equally valued. Some of my most memorable moments came from stepping out of my comfort zone. In 2023, I still remember the rush of participating in the first-ever DPAF MUN and winning Best Delegate in the ECOSOC council. A year later, I found myself on the other side—as the Chair of the same council. That shift felt surreal. A similar journey played out in fests as well. From winning the ‘Best CEO’ event at Samrudhi (an annual intra-collegiate fest) in my early years to eventually leading the entire fest as Student Secretary—it really felt like coming full circle. These experiences meant far more than just achievements. They taught me how to think on my feet, handle pressure, work with different people/teams/faculties, and stay composed even when things got chaotic. More importantly, they reshaped how I see leadership. I realised it’s not about authority—it’s about responsibility. It’s about guiding people, listening, and making sure the team moves forward together. Being recognised as the Best Outgoing Student of the Department for the academic year 2023–24 was incredibly meaningful, not just as an award, but as a reflection of that entire journey. What truly made KJU feel like home, though, were the people. I was lucky to have teachers who went beyond academics—they became mentors and constant support systems. Many of them believed in me even before I fully believed in myself, and that made all the difference. Another thing that really made a difference in my experience was the infrastructure at Kristu Jayanti University. The smart classrooms made sessions more engaging and easier to follow, rather than just being another lecture. The Learning Management System (LMS) was something I found especially helpful—it meant I could always go back to class materials anytime, which made revision and staying on track much simpler. The campus itself also played a big role. Known for its green initiatives, it had a calm and refreshing vibe that made day-to-day learning feel less stressful and more enjoyable. All of this together didn’t just make things convenient—it made learning feel more organised, accessible, and genuinely student-friendly. Finally, the transition into the professional world felt much smoother because of the support from the Placement Cell, which helped me secure my first role at Societe Generale GSC. Looking back, all the experiences—whether it was MUNs, fests, or team projects—quietly prepared me to step into the corporate world with confidence. Kristu Jayanti University didn’t just educate me—it shaped me. And I’m proud to carry a part of that journey forward into everything I do next.
Ms. Acxa Susan
My time at Kristu Jayanti University, Bangalore, from 2021 to 2024, as a B.Com (CMA) student in the Department of Professional Accounting and Finance, has been truly profound. Today, as a proud alumna, I look back with deep gratitude at a journey that has shaped me in more ways than I imagined. My professors were not only accomplished and knowledgeable, but genuinely invested in my growth beyond academics. They shaped my character, teaching me to act with integrity, and strive to make a meaningful impact. Dr. Annie Stephen ma’am, our HOD, through her grit and academic rigor, instilled in me the drive to consistently strive for excellence. Under her leadership, the department fostered an environment , where we learned to take initiative, work together as one, and grow into responsible individuals. Serving as the Department Secretary was one of the most valuable and humbling experiences of my time here. It gave me the opportunity to work closely with my peers and contribute to organizing and coordinating key events such as Samruddhi, Uthan, and DPAF'MUN, while also participating in various intra- and inter-collegiate activities. I learned teamwork, leadership, and resilience, while constantly being pushed beyond my comfort zone. Being recognized as the Best Outgoing Student of the Department is an honour I hold close to my heart-not for the recognition alone, but for everything it represents: the effort, the learning, and the values instilled in me throughout this journey. I am also deeply grateful for the opportunity to begin my professional journey as a Trade Finance Analyst with Deutsche Bank, an opportunity that the institution made possible. Whatever I am today, I owe a great deal to this department and this institution. With heartfelt gratitude, Acxa Susan Thomas
Mr. Aebel Thomas
My experience at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) has honestly been a very memorable and shaping part of my life. It wasn’t just about academics, but also about growing as a person. Academically, the college gave me a strong foundation and helped me understand concepts better with a more practical approach rather than just theory. One thing that really stood out to me was how much importance the college gave to discipline. Over time, I learned how important it is to be consistent, manage time properly, and stay accountable. These are things that I still carry with me today. Apart from studies, being involved in fests, events, and other activities helped me come out of my comfort zone, improve my communication, and become more confident overall. The campus itself also adds a lot to the whole experience. The greenery and peaceful environment make it a really nice place to be in every day. It creates a positive vibe and makes college life feel balanced, not just stressful or routine. A major turning point for me was serving as the Department Head. That role really pushed me to grow. I learned how to lead a team, manage people with different mindsets, handle pressure, and make decisions when it mattered. It also improved my ability to organize events and ensure everything runs smoothly. Taking part in different fests and competitions was another big highlight. It gave me the confidence to compete, represent my department, and aim to win. Through this, I developed better problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a competitive mindset. Most importantly, everything I learned during my time here has actually helped me in my current corporate life. The discipline, work ethic, leadership, and ability to work with teams made it much easier for me to adjust to a professional environment. I feel like the transition from college to corporate life was much smoother because of the exposure and experiences I had here. Overall, Kristu Jayanti has played a huge role in shaping who I am today, both professionally and personally, and I’m genuinely grateful for the experience.
