SAṂVIDHI- International Faculty Development Programme
Date: 10 to 18 March 2026
The Department of Economics, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, successfully organized a Virtual International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “SAṂVIDHI” from 10 March 2026 to 18 March 2026. The programme was conducted online daily from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM IST and brought together academicians, researchers, and scholars from diverse institutions. The FDP was organised on the theme “Social Science Research for a Changing World: Digitalization, Sustainability, and Equity.” The programme aimed to provide participants with interdisciplinary insights into contemporary social science research, emphasizing emerging tools, innovative methodologies, and ethical research practices. The FDP featured distinguished speakers from reputed academic institutions who shared their expertise on various dimensions of social science research. The programme commenced on 10 March 2026 with a session by Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik, Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of the People, California, USA, on “Digital Transformations in Social Science Research.” On 11 March 2026, Dr. Praveen Hoogar, Anthropologist and Assistant Professor at The Apollo University, Andhra Pradesh, delivered a session on “Methodological Innovations and Interdisciplinary Research Approaches.” The discussion highlighted the importance of qualitative research methods and interdisciplinary perspectives in social science research.The third session, held on 12 March 2026, featured Dr. Samriti Mahajan, Associate Professor at the New Delhi Institute of Management, who discussed “Quantitative Methods in Social Science Research.” The session emphasized the role of statistical techniques and empirical methods in strengthening research rigor. On 13 March 2026, Dr. Garima Singh, Assistant Professor at Manipal University Jaipur, delivered an engaging session on “Data Visualization, Analytics, and Interpretation in Social Science Research.” The session highlighted the use of digital tools for effective presentation and interpretation of research data. The fifth session on 16 March 2026 was delivered by Dr. Jobi Babu, Assistant Professor at Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous), Kerala, who addressed “Ethics, Equity, and Social Justice in Research.” The session emphasized ethical research practices, inclusivity, and responsible knowledge production in social science research. On 17 March 2026, Dr. A. V. Senthil Kumar, Principal of the Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management, Coimbatore, delivered a session on “Research Visibility: Publications, Indexing, and Citation Growth.” The session provided insights into enhancing research impact through indexing, citations, and publication strategies. The FDP concluded on 18 March 2026 with a session by Dr. Vinothina V, Associate Professor at Kristu Jayanti University, Bengaluru, on “Reference Management Simplified: Using Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote for Academic Excellence.” The session provided practical guidance on managing references and citations using digital tools for academic research. Throughout the programme, participants actively engaged in discussions, gaining exposure to emerging research trends such as digital transformation, sustainability-focused research, and interdisciplinary methodologies. The FDP significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of advanced research tools, analytical techniques, and ethical academic practices. The International FDP SAṂVIDHI successfully served as a platform for collaborative learning, fostering academic dialogue and strengthening research competencies among faculty members and scholars. The programme contributed meaningfully to the development of innovative and socially relevant research practices in the field of social sciences.

SAṂVIDHI '24: International Faculty Development Programme

The Department of Economics successfully conducted SAṂVIDHI '24, an International Faculty Development Programme, from November 6 to November 14, 2024, focusing on "Advances in Social Science Research Tools, Techniques, and Trends." The event brought together educators and researchers worldwide to enhance their research skills in qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Participants explored emerging research tools such as AI, big data analytics, and social network analysis, guided by experts from leading academic institutions. A key focus was placed on the ethical implications of AI in social science research, emphasizing the responsible use of these technologies. The programme included hands-on training in Jamovi for data analysis and Zotero and EndNote for reference management, promoting academic integrity. It also fostered interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging a more integrated approach to tackling global social issues. By the end of the programme, attendees had gained enhanced analytical skills and a deeper understanding of how to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their research.
