It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Social Sciences and Languages—a vibrant synergy of History, Sociology, Political Science, Kannada, and Hindi. Our department believes that education is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing values, empathy, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of society and culture. Our teaching–learning approach is student-centred, inclusive, and inquiry-driven. We encourage discussion, debate, creativity, and reflection, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Through academic rigour and supportive mentoring, we strive to nurture confident learners who are socially responsible and culturally aware. We are deeply committed to the holistic growth of our students. Along with academic excellence, we focus on communication skills, ethical thinking, and lifelong learning. Our dedicated faculty work closely with students to help them discover their strengths and achieve their full potential. Looking ahead, the department aims to embrace innovation through interdisciplinary learning, the use of technology, research activities, and community engagement.
