Extension Science Exhibition–2026
Date: 27 February 2026
The Department of Physical Sciences, School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, organized the Extension Science Exhibition–2026 on 27th February 2026 at Government Lower Primary School, K. Narayanapura, Bengaluru, in commemoration of National Science Day.

National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28th February to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C. V. Raman and to promote the importance of science in everyday life. In honor of this occasion, the university conducted an outreach program aimed at fostering scientific awareness and curiosity among young school students.

The objective of this outreach activity was to share scientific knowledge with young school children and to create awareness about the importance of science in daily life.

The university students transported their working models and charts to the school premises and set up an exhibition space. They demonstrated various projects related to physics, electronics, mathematics, statistics and computer science principles in a simple and interactive manner. The demonstrations included experiments explaining the physical science concepts. Each project was explained in an easy-to-understand way so that the school children could grasp the concepts clearly.

The school children actively participated by asking questions and observing the working models closely. The interactive sessions helped them develop curiosity and enthusiasm towards science. The university students also encouraged the children to think creatively and explore scientific ideas in their surroundings.

The outreach program was successful in bridging the gap between higher education and primary education. It provided practical exposure to the school children and enhanced the communication and presentation skills of the university students.

It also reflects the university’s commitment to community extension activities by sharing knowledge beyond the campus and encouraging young minds to explore the wonders of science.

Plutonia - 2026 Science Exhibition
Date: 19 & 20 February 2026
PLUTONIA – 2026, a two-day Science Exhibition, was organized by the School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Department of Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bengaluru. The event was conducted on 19th and 20th February 2026 (Thursday and Friday) from 9:30 AM onwards at the Science Block, Ground Floor.

The exhibition was envisioned as a platform to foster scientific curiosity, innovation, and experiential learning among students. It encouraged young minds to explore scientific concepts beyond textbooks and present their ideas through creative models, research projects, and experimental demonstrations spanning multiple domains of science.

The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jais V. Thomas, Chief Finance Officer, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), in the presence of faculty members and students. The exhibition featured an impressive total of 124 projects presented by students from diverse science disciplines. The exhibits covered a wide range of areas, including Physics, Electronics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and Indian Knowledge System (IKS)-based concepts, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement and academic excellence.

The collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium significantly enriched the event by promoting greater awareness and interest in space science and astronomy. The exhibition attracted 537 enthusiastic visitors, comprising students and teachers from Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) and neighboring schools, who appreciated the innovation, research depth, and practical relevance of the exhibits.

PLUTONIA – 2026 successfully created an inspiring academic environment that strengthened the spirit of scientific inquiry and collaboration. The event concluded with highly positive feedback from participants marking it as a memorable and impactful success.

Exhibition on IKS
Date: 19 & 20 February 2026
To provide students with an opportunity to explore, present, and appreciate ancient Indian contributions to science and technology, an event ‘Exhibition on IKS’ was conducted by the Department of Physical Sciences on 19/02/2026 and 20/02/2026 for all final year students. The exhibition featured various innovative models, charts, posters, and live demonstrations prepared by the final year students. Students explained the scientific reasoning behind traditional practices and compared them with modern scientific concepts. Interactive sessions were conducted where visitors could engage with presenters and clarify their doubts. Most of the final year students of the Department of Physical Sciences actively participated in the exhibition. Faculty members guided the students in selecting topics, preparing models, and organizing presentations. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of other departments as well. The IKS Exhibition conducted by the Department of Physical Sciences was a grand success. It not only showcased the creativity and knowledge of final year students but also emphasized the importance of preserving and understanding India’s traditional scientific wisdom. The event served as a valuable academic and cultural experience for all participants and attendees.
