YAAN 2026, the annual intra-departmental culinary fest

YAAN 2026, the annual intra-departmental culinary fest organized by the School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti University, was held on 13 February 2026 at the M1 Auditorium under the theme “Vishwa Rasa – Where the World Meets on a Plate,” celebrating the fusion of Indian and global cuisines while promoting entrepreneurship and experiential learning. The event was inaugurated by Chef Bharathan Venugopal, Executive Chef & Head of Department – Terminal 1 Operations, Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, who served as Chief Guest and Judge and emphasized discipline, creativity, hygiene, and strategic planning in food entrepreneurship. With participation from over 75 teams comprising more than 200 students, the fest transformed the venue into a dynamic culinary marketplace, where teams independently handled procurement, preparation, pricing, presentation, and customer engagement. Stalls were evaluated based on taste, menu composition, hygiene, creativity in décor and attire, pricing clarity, and overall execution. The Art Team enhanced the thematic ambiance through innovative décor, and the event concluded with a valedictory session recognizing outstanding performances. Overall, YAAN 2026 showcased student leadership, coordination, creativity, and business acumen by effectively integrating culinary artistry with entrepreneurial learning.

An Intra University Logistics and Supply Chain Management Fest
Date: 09 February 2026
Department of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti University, organized an Intra university Logistics and Supply Chain Management Fest exclusively for the first and second year LSCM students. The Fest commenced on 2nd February 2026 and ended with a valedictory function facilitated by Fr. Dr. Marialal Joseph, Director, Research & Development, on 09th of February 2026. Five competitive events were organized for the students and all the students are actively participated in those events. In the valedictory session, prizes were distributed to the winners. The fest was well coordinated and executed by the final year LSCM students of the university. The Fest inculcated more knowledge to the students related to the recent updates in the logistics and supply filed.

Commercia 2026

The Department of Commerce at Kristu Jayanti College (Deemed to be University) triumphantly hosted the national-level Commercia fest on February 3, 2026, under the "Praxis" banner with the theme "Catalyst, Compete & Conquer." Attracting over 200 participants from across South India, the event immersed teams in commerce-centric challenges—"Best CFO" for financial leadership, "Shark Tank" for venture pitching, "Mock Stock" for market trading, "Treasure Hunt" for strategic analysis, "Tax Advisory" for fiscal expertise, "IPL Auction" for bidding acumen, and "Paper Presentation" for research innovation—aiming to equip future professionals with actionable insights into economic volatility, entrepreneurial resilience, and global trade dynamics. Inaugurated by Mr. Virjin Jawahar and Fr. Jais V. Thomas, and led by coordinators Dr. Vidhya S. and Dr. Mohan Kumar R under the guidance of Dr. Vijaykumar R, Dr. Madhu Dhruvakumar and Dr. Cherian Thomas, Participants gained key lessons in risk management, teamwork, and business execution, achieving strong simulated outcomes.

Entrepreneurship Week Celebration (E Week-2026)

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC) and the Department of Commerce, in association with the Asian Institute of Family Managed Business (AIFMB), organized the Entrepreneurship Week Celebration (E-Week)—a comprehensive and strategically designed intra-university initiative aimed at fostering and strengthening entrepreneurial competencies among students through a structured and experiential learning approach. The programme focuses on the systematic development and refinement of essential entrepreneurial skills required to ideate, establish, and effectively manage successful enterprises. It seeks to equip students with the ability to identify emerging market opportunities, nurture innovative and creative thinking, and apply strategic business acumen to transform ideas into sustainable and scalable ventures. Scheduled as a week-long celebration from 02/02/2026 to 10/02/2026, E-Week will feature a diverse array of engaging and practice-oriented activities, including E-Bazaar, Entrepreneur’s Hunt, debates, marketing simulations, business model presentations, case study discussions, and Economy Builders sessions. Collectively, these initiatives are designed to provide holistic exposure to real-world entrepreneurial challenges, enhance critical thinking and decision-making skills, and inspire participants to cultivate a future-ready entrepreneurial mindset aligned with innovation, sustainability, and economic development.

Adroit 2026: The Dimensional Ascend

The Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti University, organised a national-level intercollegiate commerce fest, Adroit 2026, on 28th January. 160 students from 20 different institutions have participated with their kaleidoscope of learning experiences. The Festival of Commerce, themed ‘The Dimensional Ascend’, was officially inaugurated in the A2 auditorium at 9.15 AM. Mr. Lalith Suresh, Global Head, Torry Harris Integration Solutions, Bengaluru, delivered the inaugural address in which he emphasised the dominance of AI over human intelligence. He highlighted the need for upskilling to align with the emerging, AI-driven job market. Following this, the presidential address was delivered by Fr. Dr. Lijo P. Thomas, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kristu Jayanti University. Dr. Lijo pointed out that a multifaceted business is the need of today’s glocalised business era. Additionally, Father suggested the students not rely on a vocation with a unilateral interest, as it may hinder their future path. Marketing, finance, HR, PR, and EDP events were conducted in addition to the best manager contest. Each of these events comprised four rigorous rounds, ensuring that victory was truly hard-earned.34 faculty and 40 student coordinators served as the pillars of Adroit-2026. Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru, bagged the overall championship by winning in four different events. RV University, Bengaluru, and Christ University, Bengaluru, marked their success as second and third runners-up of Adroit. Adroit 2026 offered the participants an opportunity to table their innovative and practical thoughts immersed in commerce and management. The event curates the victors’ images, reflecting the clarity and conviction of their path-changing thoughts. Fr. Deepu Joy, Director of the student welfare office, felicitated the winners in the valedictory ceremony at the A2 auditorium, admin block.

Excelsior 2025

Excelsior has long stood as one of the most awaited and cherished fests of the Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance at Kristu Jayanti University. More than a series of competitions, Excelsior is a legacy—an annual tradition that celebrates innovation, resilience, and the spirit of healthy competition.
The groundwork for this year’s fest began well in advance, with preparations set in motion from the 14th of August. Faculty coordinators, programme coordinators, student leaders, event heads, sub-heads, and dedicated teams across scoring, logistics, and technical support worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this vision to life. Their commitment laid the foundation for what unfolded into ten days of excellence and discovery.
From the 9th to the 19th of September, spanning 10 days, Excelsior 2025 was brought to life under the theme “AI Renaissance – The Beginning of a New Era.” While the theme subtly framed the fest, its essence was carried through in the creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving displayed by participants across all events.
This year’s fest brought together a remarkable participation count of 963 students, a testament to the scale and enthusiasm Excelsior continues to inspire. A total of 7 core events—Marketing, Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), Event Management, Human Resources (HR), Best Manager, Public Relations (PR), and Finance—and 4 open events—Business Quiz, Mock Stock, Business Process Management (BPM), and Logistics—were conducted. Each event was uniquely crafted to challenge students, test their acumen, and help them grow beyond classroom learning.
On the final day, the 19th of September, all core event finals were held, marking the culmination of ten days of spirited competition. The day drew to a close with the much-awaited Valedictory Ceremony, a fitting finale that stood as a proud celebration of every effort, every risk taken, and every idea brought to life. It was not just a recognition of winners, but a salute to the courage of all 963 participants who chose to step forward and test their limits. Faculty members, coordinators, and students gathered in unity to honour the champions of Excelsior, while also acknowledging that the greatest victory lies in the resilience and growth of each participant.
Excelsior 2025 ended on a soaring note, leaving behind moments of triumph, lessons of perseverance, and memories of togetherness. Beyond the trophies and certificates, Excelsior continues to be a stage where talent meets opportunity, and where students create milestones that extend far beyond the four walls of the classroom. As another successful chapter closes, the legacy of Excelsior stands strong—ready to inspire future editions with the same spirit of innovation, unity, and excellence.

Impulse 2K25 An Intra Collegiate Fest

The Department of Commerce PG at Kristu Jayanti University proudly organized IMPULSE 2K25, an intra-collegiate fest, on the 2nd of September, 2025. This premier event, exclusively designed for the first-year M.COM and M.COM FA students, served as a dynamic platform to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application.
IMPULSE 2K25 was meticulously curated to foster practical learning, critical thinking, and the development of professional skills through a series of competitive events. These events spanned key areas of commerce such as auditing, tax, investment banking, fiscal alchemist, banking, and teaching. The objective was to provide students with opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, thereby enhancing their industry-specific expertise and preparing them for successful careers in finance, academia, and commerce.

YAAN 2025 Intra-Collegiate Culinary Fest
Date: 14 February 2025
YAAN 2025 was an intra-collegiate culinary fest organized by the Department of Commerce (UG), in collaboration with the Tourism Club, at Kristu Jayanti College. The event, held on February 14, 2025, revolved around the theme "Kashmir to Kanyakumari" and was inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Augustine George, the Principal of Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous.
Students from the Department of Commerce, along with members of the Tourism Club, showcased their culinary talents, with their dishes judged on presentation, authenticity, and taste. The event also provided an opportunity for participants to sell their creations. Each team represented a different state, highlighting the diversity of regional flavors and culinary traditions.
The winners of the competition were Shriya E, Harini Shree R, M Preeshma, and M Suhas from IV BCOM 'E' representing the state, Tamil Nadu. They were felicitated by Chef Dinakaran Krishanan, Corporate Chef at Three Dots and Dash, marking a memorable conclusion to the event.

Adroit 2023: Inter collegiate Commerce Fest
ADROIT 2023 - Inter Collegiate Fest was organized by the Department of Commerce (UG) on 10th February 2023. Adroit places a strong emphasis on students' moral, social, and holistic development.
The inaugural function of the fest commenced with the invocation song, by the department chair and a welcome address by the Student Coordinator of Fest, Tanishq followed by an Inaugural Address by Fr. Jais V Thomas, Financial Administrator & Faculty Member of Commerce and Management. After the inaugural address, the chief guest of the day Mr. Jinu Joshua addressed the gathering and motivated all the students to give their best and wished them all the best for active participation.
There were a variety of events organized by Adroit fest in which different colleges from Bangalore participated. A wide range of events was available to the students, including transcendence, crisis control, corporate parties, Tiger's Lair, fiduciary crunch, talent extraction, know-it-all, and margin call.

Vanijyadarpan 2024- An Intracollegiate Commerce Exhibition
Vanijyadarpan, an intra-collegiate commerce exhibition, held on 12th January 2024, marked a significant event in the academic calendar of Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous). This commerce exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 69 teams, each demonstrating their unique models.
The event was inaugurated with great fervour by the chief guest, Mr. Sreejith Venugopalan, General Manager and Head of India Account Management at OSHRS, Bangalore. His inspiring words set the tone for an engaging and competitive exhibition, emphasizing the importance of innovation and practical application in commerce.
All 69 teams displayed their creative prowess by presenting meticulously crafted models that showcased a deep understanding of various commerce-related concepts. The models ranged from financial management and marketing strategies to supply chain optimization and e-commerce solutions. The participants left no stone unturned to impress the judges with their comprehensive approach and attention to detail.
The culmination of the event was marked by the revelation of the winners, with the first prize amounting to Rs. 3000, the second prize standing at Rs. 2000, and the third prize totalling Rs. 1000. These cash rewards were bestowed upon the top three models, which not only showcased outstanding ingenuity but also demonstrated practical applicability. The announcement of the winners served as a powerful acknowledgement of the relentless effort, unwavering dedication, and innovative mindset displayed by the teams that participated in the event.
