Dr Naveen B. Ramu – Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Plantation Management Bengaluru (IIPMB) addressed the M. Com students on 11th March 2026 at M 508 at 9:00 a.m. He opened up on the role and importance of AI in Decision Making in our daily life’s as well as in corporate world. Along with that, he pointed out how a good decision requires data, analysis & quantitative tools. Sir also gave a brief picture about recommended engines, presented a short video about AI In banking sector. This helped students to understand how AI has changed the current market operations.

Certification Ceremony – SAP Global Certification & Microsoft Excel Specialist

The Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) – Commerce and Management Skill Studio organized the Certification Ceremony celebrating excellence in professional upskilling on 26th February 2026 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, Admin Block. The ceremony marked the successful completion of the SAP Global Certification (Introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning on SAP S/4 HANA) and Microsoft Excel Specialist programs. A total of 121 students from II, IV and VI Semester B.Com actively participated in the ceremony. The event recognized the remarkable milestone of over 1000 students certified in SAP and more than 500 students certified as Microsoft Excel Specialists, highlighting the institution’s strong commitment to industry-integrated learning. The session emphasized the growing relevance of ERP systems, digital transformation, and advanced data analytics in today’s business environment. Students were encouraged to pursue globally recognized certifications, enhance their technical competencies, and align their academic learning with evolving industry expectations, thereby strengthening their employability and professional readiness.

Microgreens-Based E-Store (Entrepreneurs Store)

The Department of Commerce, under the School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, in association with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC), organised a special edition of the Microgreens-Based E-Store (Entrepreneurs Store) on 24th February 2026 within the campus premises. The initiative aimed at promoting healthy food habits while fostering entrepreneurial skills among students through experiential learning.
The E-Store was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Jais V. Thomas, Chief Finance Officer & Faculty Member, Commerce and Management, along with Dr. Vijaya Kumar R., Dean, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, and Dr. Madhu Druva Kumar, Head, Department of Commerce. The dignitaries appreciated the innovative idea and commended the initiative as a meaningful platform for promoting student entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices.
A total of 30 students actively participated by collaboratively managing 25 different E-Store units. The stalls showcased 30–35 varieties of fresh microgreens-based food items, including salads, sandwiches, wraps, nutritious homemade snacks, and healthy chaat varieties topped with freshly harvested greens. The event received an overwhelming response from the campus community, with approximately 440 buyers visiting the stalls and purchasing healthy snack options.
The initiative not only provided students with hands-on experience in pricing, marketing, customer interaction, teamwork, and financial management, but also created awareness about the nutritional value of microgreens, which are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The activity successfully connected classroom learning with practical entrepreneurial exposure.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Arti Singh and Dr. Mathiyarasan M., Coordinators – Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC); Dr. C. Nagadeepa, Coordinator – Department of Commerce; and Dr. Ravindran, Coordinator – Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). Their dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful execution of the event.
The Microgreens-Based E-Store stands as a commendable initiative that effectively integrated health awareness, sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship, reflecting the University’s commitment to nurturing responsible and future-ready student entrepreneurs.

Pinnacle 2026: Viksit Bharat – Neo-Human Intelligence & Next-Gen Technologies

The Yuvashodhan Club, Department of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru organised a National-level Student paper presentation competition, Pinnacle 2026, held on 11th February2026.
The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Dr. Marialal, Director of Research, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru has pointed out that collaboration among students from diverse universities is the cornerstone of the modern research era and commended the participants for their innovative research presentations. The Research Conclave themed “Viksit Bharat 2047: Neo-Human Intelligence & Next-Gen Technologies,” was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Manav Saxena.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Saxena emphasized the paramount of research in the field of Social Sciences, highlighting its critical role in driving inclusive growth, informed policymaking, and sustainable national development toward the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Dr. C. Nagadeepa, the convenor of the programme gave a brief description of the programme. 439 students from 40 different colleges and universities were participated with their kaleidoscope of research experiences, presented a total of 209 research papers. The competition was conducted in hybrid format, featuring 154 online and 65 offline presentations across disciplines ranging from Finance and Marketing to Life Sciences and AI. Each session ensured that victory was truly hard-earned through rigorous rounds of academic defence. Dedicated faculty members and student coordinators, led by Mr. Abhijith, served as the pillars of Pinnacle 2026. Pinnacle 2026 offered the participants an opportunity to table their innovative and practical thoughts immersed in multidisciplinary research. The event curated the victors’ images, reflecting the clarity and conviction of their path-changing thoughts during the valedictory ceremony.

Understand the essence of Accounting': Dr Pragnesh Shah

Dr Pragnesh Shah, Dean – Department of Accounting and Financial Management, MS University, Baroda addressed the M.Com. and M.Com. FA students on 11th February 2026 at M4 Auditorium at 12:00 p.m.. He opened up on the scope of M.Com, along with in-depth insights into Management Accounting, Responsibility Accounting, and the evolving role of an accountant in a firm. Sir gave a picture on Return on Investment (ROI), methods to improve ROI, and the application of DuPont Analysis. It helped the students to understand how financial decisions directly influence organizational performance.

Orientation on Certificate Course on Business Accounting Process

The programme was organised to familiarize students with the scope, structure, and benefits of the course. The programme highlighted the significance of business accounting in managing financial information, understanding business performance, and supporting effective decision-making. Through the orientation, students were encouraged to recognize how accounting skills enhance employability and practical business understanding, thereby preparing them for future academic and career opportunities.

Vision To Victory – Series II from Idea to Impact: The Entrepreneur’s Role in Building Scalable Startups

Department of Commerce & the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC) organized “Vision to Victory – Series II: From Idea to Impact: The Entrepreneur’s Role in Building Scalable Startups” on 28th January 2026 for the Commerce students. The session was led by Mr. Pallav Khandelwal, Director, Khandelwal Group and U4A Tradecon LLP, and CEO of RL Ventures & Mydnapedia India, Indore. The talk provided valuable insights into transforming ideas into scalable ventures, focusing on problem identification, idea validation, business models, leadership, and strategic decision-making. The session effectively motivated students to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Short-Term Capacity Building Training Program (STT) on “Essentials of Digital Statutory e-Filing”

The Department of Commerce (PG), School of Commerce, Finance and Accounting, organized a three-day Short-Term Capacity Building Training Program (STT) on “Essentials of Digital Statutory e-Filing” from 06-01-2026 to 08-01-2026 for II M.Com and II M.Com FA students at M3 Auditorium (Science Block) and A1 Auditorium (Admin Block), in collaboration with CAST CHAPTER PRIVATE LIMITED. The program aimed to provide essential knowledge and hands-on training in digital statutory compliance and e-filing procedures, thereby enhancing students’ professional competence and employability in the commerce and finance sectors. The assessment was conducted under the authority of National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), with examination and certification by Banking Financial Services and Insurance Sector Skill Council (BFSI), adding nationally recognized credentials to the participants’ academic profile. The initiative was well-received and proved to be a valuable skill-enhancement program for postgraduate commerce students.

Skill Development Programme on Stock Trading Master the Market

The School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Department of Commerce Organised a Certificate Course on Stock Trading on successfully conducted 29/01/2026 at the Mini Auditorium M3. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing students’ knowledge of stock market fundamentals and practical aspects of trading.
The course was offered to all the Investors club students from I, II, and Final year batches of B. Com, B. Com ACCA, BA, BCA, and B.Sc. programmes. The sessions were designed to be interactive and informative, catering to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
The resource person for the programme was Dr. Kiran Kumar, Associate Professor, Kristu Jayanti University Bengaluru. He delivered insightful sessions on the basics of stock trading, market operations, and introductory analytical techniques. His practical approach and real-time examples helped students understand the functioning of the stock market effectively.
The programme received positive feedback from the participants and successfully achieved its objective of creating awareness and interest in stock trading and investment among students.

Enriching Professor of Practice session for the VI Semester B.Com “C” Section.

The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), organised an enriching Professor of Practice session for the VI Semester B.Com “C” Section.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Lakshmi B. G., Freelance Professional, who shared her practical expertise on the topic “Assessment of Partnership Firm” under the Income Tax framework. The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of the concept of partnership firms, their taxability, computation of income, treatment of partners’ remuneration and interest, and compliance requirements as per the Income Tax Act.
Through real-world examples and practical insights, the session effectively bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and professional practice. Students actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable clarity on assessment procedures and contemporary issues related to partnership firms.
The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, enhancing students’ practical knowledge and preparing them for professional and academic challenges in the field of taxation.

It started with a moment of silent prayer. Dr. Pushpa A had an informal address with the alumni and share the department’s future path. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks.

Unity Mosaic: Celebrating Cultural Diversity (Poster Presentation )

The Department of Commerce (UG) successfully organized “Unity Mosaic: Celebrating Cultural Diversity” on January 29th, 2026, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the A1 Auditorium, Admin Block. The programme witnessed active participation from students of VI B.Com A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and T (HR Specialization), benefiting a total of 100 students. The event was conceptualized as both a creative platform and an enriching educational initiative aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of cultural diversity.
The event was guided by the distinguished resource person, Prof. Sreevidya Subramanyam, Co-founder & Director, Suchita Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, Karnataka. Drawing from her extensive experience, she emphasized the transformative impact of cultural diversity. In her address, she highlighted the importance of understanding and respecting diverse cultures to break barriers, encourage collaboration, and build an inclusive society. Her insightful discourse inspired students to adopt an attitude of mutual respect and continuous learning.
The highlight of the programme was a Poster Presentation Competition, where students creatively expressed their views on cultural diversity through visually impactful presentations. The posters reflected diverse perspectives and thoughtful interpretations of multiculturalism, emphasizing the role of varied cultural identities in shaping an inclusive and interconnected global society.
In addition to the competition, interactive sessions were conducted to encourage meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas among participants. These interactions enabled students to recognize the value of embracing cultural differences, fostering innovative thinking, and promoting social harmony. The programme effectively demonstrated how the integration of art and education can cultivate global citizenship and cultural sensitivity.
Overall, the Unity Mosaic programme transcended the boundaries of a conventional competition and emerged as a meaningful celebration of cultural plurality. The event left a lasting impression on the participants, motivating them to actively promote diversity and inclusivity in their academic pursuits and future professional roles. The programme stands as a reflection of the Department of Commerce’s commitment to fostering intercultural understanding and global awareness among its students.

Green and Net-Zero Last-Mile Logistics: Opportunities and Challenges in Urban Supply Chains

The Department of Commerce, under the School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti University, organised an international expert lecture on January 05/2026. The hybrid mode session was organised between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the A1 auditorium, in the admin block. Through the Zoom platform, Dr. Afsana Salam, who is currently serving as a freelance researcher and digital content creator from North Carolina, USA, conducted the session. A total of 176 of first (F&H) -and final-year (G&H) B.Com. logistics and supply chain students benefited from the session, “Green and Net-Zero Last-Mile Logistics: Opportunities and Challenges in Urban Supply Chains.” Dr. Afsana's expertise and knowledge advance the undergraduates' surface-level domain knowledge. Innovative strategies and the green practices presented in the session taught the students about the necessity of last-mile delivery optimisation in a competitive landscape. The students can apply the knowledge in developing a sustainable last-mile logistics system aligning with the increasing need for eco-friendly logistics practices and customer demands.

Internship Orientation

The Department of Commerce (UG) organized "Internship Orientation” for IV Semester BCom students on 14.01.2026. Through this orientation 502 students were benefited. The resource person for the Orientation was Dr Chandrakhanthan J. He provided complete information about the internship. He provided information like Internship duration, period, and contents of reports, submission of confirmation and completion letter, meeting of guide, chapter wise contents and total marks.

Mentoring Session
Date: 17 October 2025
The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, organized a Mentoring Session on 17th October 2025 for the I and III Semester M.Com and M.Com (FA) students. A total of 166 students benefited from this interactive session held between 1:40 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the mentors’ cabins within the department.
The session aimed to strengthen mentor–mentee interaction, address academic and personal concerns, and guide students in academic and career goal setting. Each mentor met their mentees individually or in small groups to ensure personalized attention and open communication. Discussions covered academic progress, examination preparedness, time management, and emotional well-being. Mentors also provided career guidance and motivated students toward holistic development. The informal yet professional environment encouraged active participation and self-reflection among mentees.
Students expressed their challenges and aspirations freely, receiving constructive feedback and encouragement from mentors. The initiative fostered trust, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

Prabhaav Sahyog (Community Engagement Program)

The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, organized a community outreach program under “Prabhaav Sahyog” on 16th October 2025.
Students visited the Morning Star Orphanage at Chagalatti Village, Bengaluru, home to street and differently-abled children. They contributed essential items and spent time engaging in interactive and recreational activities with the children. The initiative aimed to nurture empathy, social awareness, and a spirit of service among students. The program successfully instilled humanitarian values and reinforced the importance of community involvement and social responsibility. M.Com. Alumni Meet –2011-2013 Batch

The Department of Commerce organized the virtual Alumni Meet of 2011-13 Batch on 27th September 2025, Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm for the alumni of M.Com 2011-13 batch. It started with a moment of silent prayer. Dr. Vijayakumar R, Dean, School of Commerce, Accountinf and Finance as well as Dr. Madhu Druva Kumar, HoD, Department of Commerce recalled the memorable teaching moments that they had as teachers had with the batch. Thay even appreciated the class cohesion even after graduating from the college. The alumni members updated their present status. They fondly remembered the management and faculty members who led them through thick and thin. The event was organized by Dr. Cherian Thomas Coordinator – Dept. of Commerce (PG courses) along with the other faculty members of the department and student volunteers.

Impulse 2025- An Intra Collegiate Commerce Fest

The Department of Commerce (PG), Kristu Jayanti University, proudly organized its annual intra-collegiate fest, IMPULSE 2K25, on 2nd September 2025. The event was exclusively designed for the first-year M. Com and M. Com FA students, bringing together 70 enthusiastic participants eager to demonstrate their talent, knowledge, and skills in the field of commerce.
The theme of this year’s fest, “Kairos – The Perfect Moment”, is rooted in the Greek concept of seizing the right opportunity and making it count. This theme captured the essence of the fest, inspiring participants to rise to the occasion, think critically, and showcase their potential in every challenge they faced
The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Rakesh Jain, Talent Acquisition Head at Grant Thornton, who encouraged students to embrace opportunities with confidence and determination. The fest featured a variety of intellectually engaging events across key commerce domains such as auditing, taxation, financial analysis, investment banking, fintech, and teaching. Each competition was carefully designed to bridge academic knowledge with practical application, allowing participants to experience real-world problem-solving while honing their teamwork, leadership, and decision-making skills.
IMPULSE 2K25 served as more than just a competition; it was a celebration of learning, collaboration, and growth. The fest created a vibrant platform for students to channel their creativity, analytical abilities, and professional acumen, while also fostering healthy competition and camaraderie. With its meaningful theme and impactful events, the fest successfully helped students seize their “Kairos” moments, preparing them to become future-ready leaders in commerce and finance.

UGC-NET and JRF Training
Date: 29 August 2025
An orientation session on UGC-NET and JRF was conducted Dr. Devi Prasanna and Ms. Ashwini S.V for the Commerce PG students to provide them with insights into the examination, its process, eligibility, and overall significance.
The session began with an overview of UGC-NET, highlighting its objectives and the academic opportunities that it offers. Details regarding the exam pattern, including Paper I and Paper II, were explained in detail.
Students were also informed about the career prospects after qualifying, such as lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.
The interactive discussion segment enabled participants to clarify their doubts and queries, making the session highly informative and engaging for the students.

Knowledge Exchange Program 'Samyog'- KJU Visit of Newman College, Thodupuzha

The Department of Commerce organized the Knowledge Exchange Program ‘Samyog’ - KJU Visit - Newman College, Thodupuzha. On 28th of August 2025, A Total of 32 M.Com. and B.Com. students along with 2 faculty members from Newman College, Thodupuzha visited the university. The program commenced with two sessions: Activity Oriented Session on Enhancing Skills for Career Development handled by Dr. Madhu Druva Kumar, Head, Department of Commerce, and Activity Oriented Session on Career Planning handled by Prof. Sen B Mathews, Director, CECR. Dr. Madhu Druva Kumar engaged the visiting students by asking them about their career goals, guiding and mentoring them on how to shape those aspirations, and conducting fun-filled activities to make the session more interactive. Prof. Sen B Mathews enriched the students with insights on skill development and career planning, encouraging them to introduce themselves akin to a job interview and providing valuable guidance for professional growth. Both sessions were highly engaging and offered practical takeaways for the participants. Following the sessions, the visiting students and faculty were taken to the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, where a video presentation showcased the achievements and initiatives of Kristu Jayanti University were played. The tour continued with visits to the chapel, the media lab, and the digitalized humanities library, the PG block, quadrangle, computer lab, electric lab, biotech and life sciences laboratories, gaining insights into the advanced infrastructure. The visit concluded with an exploration of the medicinal garden, which houses more than 243 species of medicinal plants, highlighting the institution’s commitment to holistic learning and research.

Knowledge Exchange Session on Start-up Incubation and Acceleration: Government Schemes and Opportunities

The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, in collaboration with the Kristu Jayanti Incubation Centre and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, organized a Knowledge Exchange Session on Start-up Incubation and Acceleration: Government Schemes and Opportunities on 28th August 2025 at 10:00 AM in the M4 Auditorium. The session was facilitated by Mr. Prabhu Gandhi Jain, a Start-up and Atal Incubation Consultant, and was attended by students of M.Com and M.Com FA (I & II Year). The objective of the program was to create awareness about incubation, acceleration, and government support systems that empower young entrepreneurs. The event began with an invocation, welcome address, and introduction of the chief guest. In his address, Mr. Jain emphasized transforming innovative ideas into viable businesses, highlighting the role of incubation centres in nurturing start-ups. He explained the journey from ideation to prototype, funding strategies, and the significance of mentorship and scaling opportunities. He further outlined government initiatives such as Atal Innovation Mission, NIDHI Schemes, and Atal New India Challenges, stressing their importance for aspiring entrepreneurs. The session was highly interactive, with students gaining clarity on incubation models, funding avenues, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Entrepreneurship Club (NEXORA) Inauguration

The School of Commerce inaugurated Nexora – The Entrepreneurship Club on 22nd August 2025, marking a milestone in fostering entrepreneurial spirit among postgraduate students.
The inauguration was graced by Ms. Bhavika Wadhwani, Founder & Managing Director of B.A.L. Corporate Services Pvt. Ltd., Cyber Law Advisor to the Ministry of Information & Technology, and a dynamic entrepreneur.
The event aimed to create a collaborative platform for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial learning. Ms. Wadhwani’s keynote address inspired students with her journey as a successful multi-business owner, emphasizing resilience, scalability, and innovation.
Students of M.Com and M.Com FA (I & II year) actively participated in interactive sessions, pitching innovative business ideas and receiving professional feedback.
The Q & A session enabled students to clarify doubts on funding, technology, and market adaptability.
The formal launch of Nexora highlighted the School’s commitment to nurturing leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
Key highlights included the official inauguration, an inspiring keynote, idea presentations, and insightful discussions on entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with reflections on the enthusiasm, confidence, and motivation instilled among students to pursue entrepreneurial paths.

Certificate Course on Power BI
Date: 25 July to 30 August 2025
The Department of Commerce (PG) organized a hands-on Power BI training program as part of its ongoing effort to enhance the technical and analytical skills of students. The program aimed to introduce students to business intelligence tools and empower them to derive insights from data for effective decision-making in the field of commerce. The training was conducted for 3rd Semester M.Com and M.Com FA students over a six-days period from 26th July 2025 to 4th August 2025. A total of 97 students actively participated in the training. The session was designed to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge. Students learned the fundamentals of data visualization, data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and report creation using Power BI. Through interactive exercises and real-world datasets, students gained hands-on experience in transforming raw data into meaningful dashboards and reports. The highlights of the program included. By the end of the training, students were able to build their own reports and dashboards, equipping them with essential skills needed in data-driven roles in finance, marketing, auditing, and analytics. Capacity Building Training on Life Skills

The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Centre for Life Skills Education (CLSE), successfully conducted a Capacity Building Training on Life Skills from 25th July to 30th July 2025. This program aimed to equip students with vital personal and professional competencies such as effective communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, and time management.
Designed to empower participants in both academic and real-world settings, the training featured a series of engaging workshops and hands-on activities. These sessions were facilitated by faculty members from the Department of Commerce, who shared their expertise to ensure a meaningful and practical learning experience.
The training was attended by students from the 1st Semester M.Com and M.Com FA programs, with a total of 60 participants benefiting from the initiative. Through this program, students gained valuable insights and tools to enhance their personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and professional performance.
The Department remains committed to fostering holistic development and will continue to offer such impactful programs in the future.

NCVET Certificate Course On Essentials Of Digital Statutory E-Filing
Date:16 to 18 December 2025
The School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance – Department of Commerce organizes NCVET-approved skill-based courses such as “Essentials of Digital Statutory e-Filing” to strengthen the practical and professional competencies of UG and PG Commerce students. Conducted for final-year students from 16/12/2025 to 18/12/2025, the programme was delivered by corporate trainers from Nergy Vidya, Bengaluru, with a strong focus on industry-relevant statutory compliance practices. The course provided hands-on training in GST filing, Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, and company registration through the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) portal, enabling students to gain real-time exposure to digital compliance systems. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to outcome-based education, employability enhancement, and alignment with national skill development frameworks under NCVET, thereby benefiting both UG and PG learners in commerce and allied disciplines.

Vanijyadarpan – Commerce Exhibition

The Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti University, successfully organized Vanijyadarpan – the Commerce Exhibition on 19th December 2015. The exhibition served as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their academic learning, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills through innovative commerce-based models and displays.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Shivi Jawalia, Co-Founder of NH 8 Restaurants – Chakkiwalle. Her presence added great value to the occasion, inspiring students with insights from her entrepreneurial journey. During her inaugural address, Ms. Jawalia emphasized the importance of innovation, practical exposure, and perseverance in the field of commerce and business. She encouraged students to think creatively and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world business scenarios.
Vanijyadarpan featured a wide range of exhibits related to marketing strategies, finance, taxation, accounting practices, business management, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. Students demonstrated their understanding through working models, charts, presentations, and interactive sessions, reflecting both academic depth and practical relevance.
The exhibition attracted faculty members, students, and visitors from across the university, creating an engaging learning environment. It provided an excellent opportunity for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and confidence building among students.
Overall, Vanijyadarpan was a resounding success, fulfilling its objective of bridging the gap between theory and practice. Alumni Entrepreneurs: Building Dreams Beyond University

The Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) organized an alumni interaction session titled “Alumni Entrepreneurs: Building Dreams Beyond University” on 23 October 2025 in the A2 Auditorium. The session featured Mr. Nandu Renchi Philip, Interior Designer, Entrepreneur, and Founder & Chief Dreamweaver of NRP Spaces.
Mr. Nandu shared his journey from a commerce student to a successful entrepreneur, emphasizing creativity, perseverance, risk-taking, and continuous learning. He encouraged students to explore unconventional career paths, build strong networks, and develop their personal brand. An engaging Q&A session allowed students to seek guidance on entrepreneurship, interior design, and career planning.
The event strengthened the bond between alumni and students, inspiring participants to pursue their passions with confidence and resilience. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Mr. Nandu’s valuable insights and his contribution to fostering entrepreneurial spirit among Jayantians.

Prowess - Intra-University Student Symposium & Paper Presentation Competition

The Department of Commerce (UG) under the School of Commerce, Accounting, and Finance, through its Yuvashodhan Club, successfully organised “PROWESS 2025 – A Student Symposium & Paper Presentation Competition” on October 29th, 2025. With the theme “Business Beyond 2030: Innovation, People, and Sustainability,” the event provided a vibrant platform for students to explore the future of business through the lenses of innovation, human capital, and sustainable growth. The symposium attracted numerous research submissions, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm for scholarly inquiry and their engagement with emerging trends in commerce and management. After a thorough review process, 79 selected papers were presented by 177 students, showcasing their analytical abilities, academic rigor, and passion for research.
The Valedictory Ceremony, held at 3:30 PM at the A2 Auditorium, was graced by Fr. Dr. Jais V Thomas, who served as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, Fr. Jais applauded the students for their dedication to research and knowledge creation, emphasizing how such initiatives prepare them for leadership in an ever-evolving business world. He also appreciated the consistent efforts of the Yuvashodhan Club in fostering research and innovation among students through its various academic initiatives.
Dr. Madhu Druva Kumar, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Dr. C. Nagadeepa, Event Coordinator and Yuvashodhan Club Coordinator, joined Fr. Jais in honoring the winners. Awards for the Best Paper and Best Presenter were conferred in the categories of Human Resource, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, and General Management, recognizing outstanding contributions and innovative ideas.
The event served as a celebration of academic excellence and collaborative learning, inspiring young scholars to continue pursuing research and innovation that address the evolving challenges of the business world. Prathibhimbha Vaadha 2025

The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, organized Prathibhimbha Vaadha 2025 on 17th October 2025 at the A1 Conference Hall. The theme for this year’s discussion was “GST 2.0: One Nation, One Tax — Dream Realized or Still a Distant Vision.”
A total of Eight students participated, with Four speakers presenting arguments in favor of the motion and four speakers opposing it. The participants showcased deep understanding and critical thinking on the subject, making the session both engaging and insightful.
The event concluded with a comprehensive summary and concluding remarks delivered by the moderator, who highlighted the key perspectives shared during the debate. The session provided a valuable learning experience for both participants and the audience, enhancing awareness on the practical implications of GST 2.0.

Building A World Without Violence

The Department of Commerce organized a session on “Building a World Without Violence”, aimed at promoting peace, empathy, and non-violent values among students. A total of 157 students from M.Com and M.Com (FA) programmes actively participated in the session.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Ann Rachael Giju, Mr. Aman Mathew Sunish & Ms. Keziah Mariam Suresh, who delivered an insightful session emphasizing the importance of compassion, respect, and understanding in creating a peaceful society. The resource persons highlighted how violence, in any form—physical, emotional, or social—affects individuals and communities, and discussed practical ways to promote harmony through empathy, communication, and ethical behaviour.
Through interactive discussions and reflective learning, students were encouraged to analyse the root causes of violence and explore non-violent approaches to conflict resolution. The session also stressed the importance of tolerance, equality, and social responsibility in building safer and more inclusive communities.
The session not only deepened students understanding of peacebuilding and social harmony but also enhanced their critical thinking, empathy, and problem-solving skills. It inspired them to take personal and collective action towards fostering a culture of respect, understanding, and non-violence.

Orientation on Business Process Management

Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University, along with TATA Consultancy Services organized an orientation session on Business Process Management on 13th October 2025 to provide exposure to the real-world BPM process. Mr. Sathish Seelan, Associate Vice President, TATA Consultancy Services and Mr. Praveen Chandran V, Manager, TATA Consultancy Services, Regional Head, Academic Alliances Group, being the resource persons for the session. The resource persons were addressed to the I and II year B.Com – Business Process Management students. They shared their experience in the field of BPM process and industry expectation from the young minds. They insisted the students to nurture their talents, skills and knowledge in align with industry expectations.
The program began with general instructions, a prayer, and a welcome address, followed by the introduction of the chief guest. During his address, Mr. Sathish shared valuable insights about TCS-BPM with the students. Mr. Praveen shared the industry expectations from the student.
The session was very interactive, with students engaging in discussions and gaining deeper insights into BPM. The program was both enriching and inspiring, broadening students' understanding of BPM. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks marking the successful end of the orientation session.

Things Feel Too Much: Help & Hope- An Awareness Programme

The Department of Commerce organised an awareness programme “Things Feel Too Much: Help & Hope” for first-year B.Com students on 23rd and 24th September 2025, focusing on suicide prevention and mental well-being. On 23rd September, Dr. Lokesh L, Assistant Professor from the Department of Psychology, conducted sessions for I semester B.Com A, B, C and D section students, engaging them through interactive talks, discussions, and practical strategies to cope with stress and emotional challenges. On 24th September, Dr. Arjun Sekhar P. M., Assistant Professor from the Department of Psychology, conducted sessions for the remaining students of E, F, G and H emphasizing the importance of recognizing early warning signs, seeking help, and fostering a supportive peer network. Both sessions highlighted available campus counselling resources and helplines, encouraging students to reach out whenever needed. Students actively participated, shared their experiences, and expressed appreciation for the guidance and insights provided during the programme.

Certificate Course on Stock Trading

The School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Department of Commerce organized a Certificate Course on Stock Trading from 20th September 2025 to 27th September 2025 at the Mini Auditorium M4. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing students’ knowledge of stock market fundamentals and practical aspects of trading.
The course was offered to all the students from I, II, and Final year batches of B.Com, B.Com ACCA, BA, BCA, and B.Sc programmes. The sessions were designed to be interactive and informative, catering to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
The resource person for the programme was Mr. Thilak Venkatesan, Associate Professor, PES University, Bengaluru. He delivered insightful sessions on the basics of stock trading, market operations, and introductory analytical techniques. His practical approach and real-time examples helped students understand the functioning of the stock market effectively.
The programme received positive feedback from the participants and successfully achieved its objective of creating awareness and interest in stock trading and investment among students.

Skill Development in Digital Accounting: A Hands-on Approach with QuickBooks

The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, organised a Skill Studio session on “Skill Development in Digital Accounting: A Hands-on Approach with QuickBooks” on 18th September 2025 through Google Meet. The session was conducted for V B.Com B & C students, with a total of 109 beneficiaries.
The primary objective of the programme was to expose students to digital accounting tools that are widely used in the industry and to equip them with hands-on skills for future career readiness. The resource person for the session was Dr. M. Rajarajeswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (Aided), PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore.
The session began with an introduction to QuickBooks, covering its features such as creating and managing ledgers, recording vouchers, generating financial statements, and analyzing reports. The resource person engaged students with step-by-step demonstrations, allowing them to understand the practical application of accounting concepts in a digital environment. Additionally, the session included exposure to Zoho Books, where students were shown how to create invoices, automate transactions, and handle GST compliance digitally. Through these demonstrations, participants gained valuable experience in navigating accounting software, which bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practices.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in the exercises and clarifying their queries on the application of both platforms. The participants appreciated the opportunity to learn the practical aspects of digital accounting, which enhanced their confidence and employability. International Literacy Day Celebration

The Department of Commerce celebrated International Literacy Day on 8th September 2025 with the enthusiastic participation of the first-year B.Com Logistics and Supply Chain Management students. The program aimed to highlight the importance of literacy in empowering individuals and building inclusive societies.
The event began with a short talk on the significance of the day, followed by engaging activities. A quiz competition was organized to test the students’ awareness of literacy facts and current issues related to education. Students also took part in a poster designing competition, where they creatively expressed the theme of literacy through art and slogans. Another highlight of the program was the creation of a “Literary Tree”, where students contributed inspiring quotes, thoughts, and messages related to the value of education and lifelong learning. The celebration not only encouraged active participation but also created awareness about the importance of literacy in both personal and professional life, especially in the field of logistics and supply chain management. The program concluded with a pledge by students to promote literacy and contribute towards an educated society.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

The V B.Com A Section of the Department of Commerce celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and heartfelt gratitude. The program opened with a series of lively dance performances and a soulful singing act by the students, offered as a warm tribute to their teachers.
One of the most cherished moments of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, which beautifully symbolized the bond of love, respect, and appreciation shared between teachers and students.
To add deeper meaning to the occasion, the celebration was extended beyond the classroom. In honor of both teachers and students, a food donation drive was organized at a local orphanage. Along with the donation, the students spent valuable time with the children, sharing joy, laughter, and togetherness. This simple yet thoughtful gesture brought smiles to many faces and made the celebration truly fulfilling.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by engaging activities that reflected the spirit of camaraderie. Alumni participated in a variety of events, including musical chairs, singing, and dance performances, which filled the atmosphere with joy and nostalgia. Professor of Practice (POP) session

The Department of Commerce under the school of Commerce, Accounting and Finance organised a Professor of Practice (POP) session for the B.Com third-semester logistics and supply chain management students. Dr Suja R. Nair engaged the students on the 25th, 28th, and 29th of August 2025. Dr Suja is an author, researcher, and industry consultant and she is also the cofounder of Educe Micro Research. She conducted sessions on warehouse activities and equipment, integrating role play and group discussions to enhance student engagement. Additionally, she assigned tasks to selected students, asking them to demonstrate concepts using hand-drawn sketches. Dr. Suja discussed the latest trends in warehouse activities and advised the students on how to navigate through the advanced technologies, especially with warehouse management. She explained the concept of warehouse automation through a video session, which helped the students to grasp the contents through audio-visual effects. All students actively participated in the sessions through various activities. The POP sessions provided students with practical-orientated sessions in a theory classroom, enabling them to apply their learning in real-world scenarios.

Orientation Session on Programme Planning and Effective Documentation
Date: 18 to 20 August 2025
An orientation session on “Programme Planning and Effective Documentation” was conducted for the faculties of various clubs and centres, led by Dr. Manikandan K, Coordinator of clubs and centres documents. The session aimed at equipping the faculty coordinators of clubs and centres with systematic approaches to plan activities in alignment with institutional goals and to maintain structured documentation for academic and extracurricular initiatives. Dr. Manikandan K highlighted the importance of clear planning, timely execution, and the need for proper records to reflect the achievements and contributions of each club and centre.
During the session, the resource person effectively introduced the different formats to be followed, explained the quality benchmarks to be maintained, and provided practical insights into preparing comprehensive reports. He also stressed the role of documentation in accreditation processes, internal reviews, and institutional visibility. Ms. Ramya B, Director of IQAC, clarified the quality benchmark and concluded the discussion with the faculty. The orientation created awareness among the faculty participants about the standards expected and encouraged them to adopt best practices in both planning and record-keeping, ensuring quality enhancement in all future activities.

Jai Hind 2025 - Celebrating Patriotism and Unity
Date: 11 to 18 August 2025
The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) proudly organised Jai Hind 2025 from 11th August to 18th August with the theme “Youth for Nation: Be the Change You Want.” The event was conducted in alignment with the national Independence Day theme “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future,” encouraging students to reflect on their role in shaping a progressive nation.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all streams, who expressed their patriotism through a series of creative and cultural events. Competitions included Desh Bhakthi Bhashan, face painting, Freedom Fabric, group and solo singing, India in 15 Seconds, photography, group and solo dance, fashion walk, Rand De Tiranga Khanna, and a heritage gallery. Each activity combined talent with values of unity, sustainability, and cultural pride.
The event not only showcased the diversity and creativity of Jayantians but also created an atmosphere of togetherness, reminding everyone of the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the responsibility of today’s youth to carry their legacy forward. Jai Hind 2025 concluded on 18th August with an overwhelming spirit of national pride, leaving a lasting impact on the campus community.

Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme
Date: 11 to 18 August 2025
The Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was organized from 11th to 18th August 2025, during which all B.Com students took part enthusiastically in a series of activities highlighting the importance of eradicating ragging. The Seven-day event featured diverse and impactful initiatives such as the Anti-Ragging Pledge Ceremony, educational video screenings, mime performances, skits, poster presentations, role plays, Power Point presentations, and an online quiz. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to sensitize the student community on the harmful effects of ragging and to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. Active participation from all students made the programme highly engaging and meaningful.

Life Skill Training Programme
Date: 24 to 29 July 2025
Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be) university in collaboration with center for life skill education organised a four-day life skills training programme between the 24th and 28th of July 2025. Five hundred and forty two newly joined general B.Com students benefited from this transformative training. Thirty-two faculty members engaged in the training sessions according to the assigned sessions.
Ten essential life skills were introduced to the students through an interactive lecture mode. Communication, stress management, self-awareness, and problem-solving are some essential skills that every individual should possess. Effective communication is a key to success in every field, regardless of role or status, but many are unaware of the right tone or body language in communication. Additionally, the rise of nuclear family systems has made it difficult for young adults to confront the stark realities of life; even the complexities of the curriculum may lead them to distress. In this current context, life skill training tailored for young students can help them make the three-year learning period more fruitful and enjoyable.
The life skills training sessions equipped students with the relevant skills to succeed in their future endeavors through transformational sessions jointly organized by the Department of Commerce and the Center for Life Skill Education at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be) University.

Alumni Batch Get - together

The Alumni Meet was held on 12th July 2025 at the A2 Auditorium, Admin Block, Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University. It brought together alumni from the 2012–2015 and 2017–2020 batches for a heart-warming and memorable reunion.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and togetherness. This was followed by a welcome address from the Head of the Department, who warmly received the alumni and expressed sincere appreciation for their ongoing bond with the institution.

The Department of Commerce (UG) at Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru, in collaboration with Massey University, New Zealand, organised an insightful session as part of its International Lecture Series on 01/04/2025. The lecture, titled "Building Your Personal Brand: Insights from Rachin Ravindra & KWIS", was exclusively designed for the IV Semester B.Com students. It aimed to help students understand the importance of personal branding and how to develop a unique professional identity in today’s competitive environment.
The event was conducted in the M1 Auditorium, First Floor, Main Block, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The session featured Mrs. Joy Hotter, Director of Massey-Kaplan College (International Pathways), as the resource person. With her extensive experience in international education and student development, Mrs. Hotter delivered a highly engaging and thought-provoking talk. She highlighted the journey of Rachin Ravindra, a young New Zealand cricketer known for his discipline, global mindset, and consistent personal brand. Drawing parallels between sports and academics, she illustrated how students can learn from such personalities to build a strong and authentic presence in their respective fields.
Mrs. Hotter also introduced students to focusing on how global education platforms and exposure to international opportunities can play a crucial role in personal and professional growth. She stressed the significance of developing soft skills, cultural intelligence, and a clear personal narrative, which are essential for students aspiring to enter the global workforce. Financial Literacy and Decision Making Skills: A Life Skills Approach

Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti College organised a workshop titled “Financial Literacy and Decision-Making Skills: A Life Skills Approach.” The event was conducted on 10/03/2025 between 11 AM and 12 Noon at the A1 auditorium, admin block. Mr. Dhanapal C, Assistant Professor at the Department of Commerce, was the resource person, and the final-year B. Com C & F section students were the beneficiaries.
During the session, Mr. Dhanapal highlighted the relevance of financial literacy and decision-making skills to survive in the fast-paced digital world. The students have been told how these decision-making skills can empower individuals in their professional and personal circumstances. The essential skill sets required to secure a stable financial position have also been introduced to young students.
The valuable insights of the resource person equipped the participants with the necessary skills to thrive in the competitive world. Based on the valuable intakes students can mold themselves as better money managers and better decision makers, these characteristics will upgrade them into higher-level job roles and protect them from the financial pitfalls.

Debate Competition on Gender Equality

The Department of Commerce (UG)’s Gender Equality Club organised a stimulating debate competition in connection with International Women’s Day on "Does true gender equality require special privileges for women?" for first-year B.Com students on March 8, 2025. The event was held at the A1 Auditorium from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and saw enthusiastic participation.
A total of 16 students engaged in a compelling discussion, presenting diverse viewpoints. The Intra-Collegiate Debate – Provocateur 2024, organized by the Department of Commerce (UG), was held on 25th February 2024 at 10:00 AM in the A3 Auditorium, 5th Floor, Admin Block, Kristu Jayanti College. The debate centred around the thought-provoking topic: “90-Hour Work Week: A Catalyst for Excellence or a Recipe for Burnout?” engaging 08 confers from the Ist, IInd and IIIrd year students in a compelling discussion on work-life balance and corporate culture. Participants presented strong arguments both for and against the motion, debating whether extreme work hours’ drive success or lead to burnout and decreased productivity. The proponents argued that long work hours are often necessary for excelling in competitive fields like finance and technology, citing examples of successful entrepreneurs who built their careers through relentless dedication. They emphasized that a 90-hour work week fosters discipline, innovation, and career advancement. However, the opposing side highlighted the negative impact of overworking, referencing studies on mental health, stress, and declining productivity. They argued that sustainable work-life balance is more effective for long-term success and that modern companies increasingly prioritize flexible schedules to enhance employee well-being and efficiency.
The debate was moderated by Mr. Brendon Edwards, Human Resource Manager at Manpower Pvt Ltd, known for his expertise in HR policies and employment ethics. His structured and impartial moderation ensured a fair and engaging discussion, allowing participants to express their views clearly. Mr. Edwards encouraged students to reflect on their career aspirations and consider the evolving workplace dynamics, questioning whether productivity should be measured by hours worked or by efficiency and creativity. The Department of Commerce (UG) at Kristu Jayanti College organised an Alumni Interaction Session on "Campus Challenges to Career Triumphs: Stories of Growth and Transformation" on 21st February 2025. The event aimed to inspire and guide Second-year B.Com. A, C, D & H students by sharing real-life experiences of alumni who successfully transitioned from college life to professional careers. The session was graced by Ms. Sruthi Nair, Senior Manager at Grant Thornton US Taxation, who served as the resource person. She shared her journey from being a student at Kristu Jayanti College to securing a key role in a prestigious firm.
During her speech, Ms. Shruthi reflected on her first interview at Grant Thornton ten years ago, where she initially lacked confidence. However, over time, she actively participated in various competitions and extracurricular activities, which significantly helped her build confidence and develop essential skills. She also highlighted the challenges of balancing academics and extracurricular activities during her college years. She faced difficulties in managing time efficiently, which affected her studies and participation in events. However, one of her professors guided her on the importance of prioritization and time management, which played a crucial role in her personal and professional growth.
Furthermore, Ms. Shruthi emphasized the significance of preparing well before an interview and continuously enhancing one’s skill set to stay competitive in the job market. She encouraged students to work on their communication skills, technical knowledge, and adaptability to excel in their careers. The session was highly engaging and interactive, with students enthusiastically participating in the discussion. Ms. Shruthi’s experiences and insights provided valuable lessons on overcoming fears, managing responsibilities, and excelling in one’s career. The session was led by Mr. Vishwanath K. N., Regional Manager at ARRISE Solutions Ltd., who brought extensive industry insights into the evolving landscape of marketing strategies and consumer engagement. During the sessions, Mr. Vishwanath covered key topics such as digital transformation in marketing, data-driven decision-making, AI-powered marketing strategies, and consumer behavior analysis. He emphasized the growing significance of social media marketing, influencer collaborations, and personalized content strategies in the current business environment. Through real-world examples and case studies, he provided students with practical exposure to industry practices, helping them bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. Prowess 2.0 - An Intracollegiate Student Paper Presentation Competition

The Department of Commerce (UG) and the Yuvashodhan Club successfully organized the Prowess Intracollegiate Research Paper Presentation Competition, fostering academic excellence and research-driven learning among students.
The event commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony in the A2 Auditorium, Admin Block. The College Choir set a solemn tone with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome address by Mr. Ruban Daniel, Secretary of the Yuvashodhan Club. Fr. Joshy Mathew, Director of the Library and Information Centre, Director of the HR Department, and Head of the Department of English, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the significance of research, critical inquiry, and knowledge-sharing in academia. Dr. Babu Gnanakumar, Director & Consultant for Corporate Training at Kristu Jayanti College, also addressed the gathering, inspiring participants with his insights on innovation and scholarly excellence. Ms. Anjali Kumari, Secretary of the Yuvashodhan Club, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks, and the Jayantian Anthem marked the end of the session.
The competition featured research paper presentations across four categories: General, HR, Marketing, and Finance. The General, HR, and Marketing categories were conducted online, facilitated by a dedicated backend team to ensure seamless technical support. The Finance category was held offline, enabling participants to engage in interactive discussions. This vibrant event brought together students from VI BCOM A, B, C, D, E, F, and T (HR Specialization), engaging a total of 141 beneficiaries. The program was designed not only as a platform for artistic expression but also as an educational experience that deepened the participants' understanding of cultural diversity.
At the heart of the event was a dynamic Poster Presentation Competition. Students tapped into their creative energies to produce compelling visual narratives that illustrated the importance of cultural diversity in today’s interconnected world. Each poster was a window into the students’ personal interpretations and reflections on multiculturalism, showcasing how different cultural backgrounds contribute to the richness of a global society.
Beyond the competition, the program featured interactive sessions that encouraged open dialogue and exchange of ideas. The Department of Commerce (UG) organized a panel discussion on emerging concepts in cost management held on 3rd February 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:50 AM, showcased the exceptional talents and insights of fourth-semester B. Com students from sections A, C, and D. The panel discussion on emerging concepts in cost management was an insightful event that brought together students from various disciplines to share their perspectives on the latest trends and methodologies in the field. The discussion covered several key concepts like activity-based costing, zero based budgeting and beyond, e commerce and omni channel cost efficiency, target costing in FMCG and in retail, cost control in supply chain digitalization, six sigma, cost management in merger and acquisition, target costing, multiple costing and concepts of cost management. In the panel discussion, students actively engaged in exchanging their ideas. The event provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of cost management and underscored the importance of adopting innovative approaches to stay competitive in today's dynamic business environment.

POP Lecture Series on Supply Chain Operations: Planning & Sourcing

Department of Commerce, Kristu Jayanti College Organized a Professor of Practice (POP) expert lecture series on Supply Chain Management Subject. The three-day lecture series commenced on 10Th February 2025, offline at the A1 auditorium, and progressed through the 11Th and 13Th for the scheduled eight hours. Dr. Charanath Sivakumar, a Freelance pharma business consultant who has over four decades of experience shared his expertise with IInd Semester B. Com students.
The POP sessions focus on awareness and knowledge building through industry-relevant sessions. In his session, Dr. Charanath picked the practical lessons from his broad-span career of varying roles from the sales office to the corporate office. In his session, he incorporated examples of transnational conflicts and wars that disrupt the supply chain and why the supply chain should be agile. Also, he explained how his company overcame the challenge while serving as a product manager during the supply chain disruption due to the Suez Canal obstruction.
The three-day lecture series, which included a practical theory session, enlightened the IInd Semester Logistics and Supply Chain students. Dr. Charanath taught the students that supply chain operations serve as the spine of business practically.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Antony Davis, CEO of VHT NOW, Bengaluru. In his inspiring address, Mr. Antony Davis emphasized the importance of innovation, adaptability, and leveraging technology in the fast-evolving world of commerce. He commended the students for their creativity and urged them to develop skills that align with the demands of the global business environment.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Jais V Thomas, Financial Administrator of Kristu Jayanti College. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications. Rev. Fr. Jais V Thomas applauded the department's consistent efforts in fostering holistic education and practical exposure for the students.
Dr. R. Vijayakumar, Head, Department of Commerce (UG), expressed his gratitude to the college management, faculty, and students for their collective efforts in making the event a grand success. The exhibition featured various stalls and displays set up by students, showcasing innovative business models, marketing strategies, and financial plans. The exhibition was meticulously coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Mathiyarasan and Ms. Thanuja, the Faculty Coordinators. Student coordinators Mr. Vivek Singh, Ms. Anjali Kumari, Mr. Ansh & Ms. Pooja Chandran also played a pivotal role in organizing the event, ensuring its smooth execution.

Department of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, organized an Intra Collegiate Logistics and Supply Chain Management Fest exclusively for the first and second-year LSCM students. The Fest commenced on the 23rd of January 2025 and ended with a Valedictory function facilitated by Fr. Deepu Joy, Director -Student Welfare Office, on the 30th of January 2025. Five competitive events were organized for the students and all the students actively participated in those events. In the Valedictory session, prizes were distributed to the winners. The fest was well coordinated and Executed by the final-year LSCM students of the college. The Fest inculcated more knowledge to the students related to the recent updates in the logistics and supply field.
