Alumna Ms. Aileen Shares Insights on Information Design and Creative Careers

In order to give students insightful information about the profession of information design and creative career routes, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) arranged an enlightening alumni interaction session with Ms. Aileen Sarah Jacob, Information Designer at User Perspective February 13, 2026. Ms. Aileen discussed how her passion in design progressively developed into a career as she looked back on her academic career. She emphasized how experimenting with research-based design, structured communication, and visual storytelling was encouraged throughout her stay at the institution, which helped establish a solid basis for her profession.
Information design, according to Ms. Aileen, goes beyond aesthetics and is concerned with conveying complicated information in an understandable and significant way. She discussed how her academic endeavours benefited from study, analysis, and teamwork, which improved her ability to think critically and solve problems. She highlighted resilience, ongoing learning, and portfolio development as crucial components of her professional development in order to overcome the difficulties of creative self-doubt and competitive industry standards. In her closing remarks, she urged students to have faith in their skills, be open to trying new things, and exercise patience, emphasizing that perseverance and enthusiasm are necessary for long-term success.

Connecting Academia and Industry: Alumni Talk by Mr. Gopinath K, Oracle Technical Writer

In order to bridge the gap between academic learning and business realities, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) hosted an informative alumni interaction session with Mr. Gopinath K., Technical Writer at Oracle on February 12, 2026. Throughout the discussion, Mr. Gopinath considered his academic journey and the significant influence his college education had on his career trajectory. He revealed that his professional development was not linear but rather the outcome of experimentation, inquiry, and ongoing education. Despite his current career in technical writing, he stressed that his college years' varied skill development enabled him to identify his own passions and skills.
Mr. Gopinath emphasized how his undergraduate experiences in graphic design and video editing improved his comprehension of visual communication, clarity, and organized presentation—skills that were ultimately crucial to his career. He also talked candidly about the difficulties he had in his job search, such as rejections and uncertainty, and how persistence, resume polishing, and ongoing upskilling enabled him to land a job at Oracle. As he wrapped off the discussion, he urged students to take advantage of their college years, experiment with interdisciplinary talents, maintain their fortitude in the face of failure, and continuously improve their knowledge in order to be competitive in a changing labour market.

Alumni Talk inspires media students with growth skills and career insights

The Department of Media Studies at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) hosted an inspiring alumni talk on August 13, 2025, featuring Ms. S. Aaqifah Hilmi, a B.A. Visual Communication graduate from the 2020–2023 batch and currently a Digital Marketing Strategist at Sensio Enterprises. Ms. Hilmi shared her professional journey, drawing from her experiences as the Department’s former General Secretary. Aaqifah highlighted the importance of leadership, strategic work habits, and the mindset required for career resilience, urging students to adopt lifelong learning as a cornerstone for success.
Ms. Hilmi encouraged attendees to take advantage of academic and extracurricular possibilities, emphasizing how college experiences may provide a solid basis for market preparedness. The session ended with an interactive Q&A session in which students discussed subjects such as improving creative agility, developing competitive portfolios, and sharpening skill sets for the changing media landscape. The discussion inspired students to actively invest in their personal and professional development.
