Startup Pitching Orientation for Biotech Hackathon 2025

The Biopreneurship Cell, Department of Life Sciences along with Institutional Innovation Council organized an exclusive Startup Pitching Orientation Session to guide student-led teams preparing for the Manipal Biotech Hackathon 2025. The session aimed to strengthen students’ pitch readiness by helping them refine their ideas, improve business clarity, and enhance presentation quality.

These experts provided valuable inputs on:

Student Startups Attend NABL Awareness Program at Bangalore Bio Innovation Centre

Student-led startups from the Department of Life Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University actively participated in the NABL Awareness Program held at the Bangalore Bio Innovation Centre (BBIC), Bengaluru on 31st October 2025. The program focused on enhancing understanding of NABL accreditation processes and their significance in testing and calibration laboratories, a key requirement for emerging biotech and life-science ventures.

The session introduced participants to:
 The purpose and framework of NABL accreditation
 Quality standards required for laboratory certification
 Operational benefits of accreditation for start-ups
 Pathways to compliance and national-level recognition

This exposure strengthened their understanding of industry expectations and regulatory frameworks, empowering them to better position their ventures for future growth.

The Department of Life Sciences congratulates all participating teams for their proactive effort toward excellence and encourages them to build on the knowledge gained. The event marked a positive step toward nurturing quality-driven, innovation-ready biostartups from our campus.


BioNova Acceleration Program - Ignite Your Side-Hustle, Build Your Biobusiness!

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre, in association with the Biopreneurs Club, Department of Life Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University, proudly launched the BioNova Acceleration Program to nurture student-led bio-entrepreneurship.

This initiative was designed to support UG and PG students already managing small but functioning ventures. In its latest cohort, BioNova successfully accelerated 12 MSME-registered businesses, transforming student side-hustles into structured, growth-ready enterprises. Through a combination of mentoring, business development workshops, and incubation support, participants gained access to: expert guidance on scaling bio-based ventures, insights into regulatory compliance and MSME registration, hands-on support for branding, packaging, and market positioning and access to incubation resources and innovation networks.

BioNova is more than a program—it’s a launchpad for young biopreneurs. By blending life sciences with entrepreneurship, it equips students to transform their passion projects into sustainable, impactful businesses. From cookies to cosmetics, from probiotics to lab kits—BioNova is catalyzing the next wave of student-led biotech MSMEs in India.


Student-Led Startups Shine at International Trade Fair 2025
Date: 23 to 25 January 2025
We are delighted to share the remarkable journey of five student-led startups—Agri Foods, Thrive Ups, Appachiiii, Cervam, and Paramparika—nurtured by the Biopreneurship Club, Department of Life Sciences, Kristu Jayanti College. These promising ventures had the opportunity to showcase their innovations at the International Trade Fair 2025 (Organics & Millets), held from January 23 to 25 at Tripuravasini, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru.

With an impressive two lakh attendees, including farmers, distributors, exporters, scientists, government officials, and the general public, the event provided an invaluable platform for these emerging entrepreneurs to gain exposure, build networks, and explore market opportunities.
