B.Sc. Microbiology & Genetics
The Dual Major Programme in Microbiology and Genetics offers an integrated curriculum that combines the study of microorganisms with the exploration of genetic principles and mechanisms. The programme provides students with a strong foundation in microbial physiology, molecular biology and genetics, fostering an understanding of how genetic processes influence microbial function, diversity and evolution. By bridging these two complementary disciplines, the programme equips graduates with analytical, research, and laboratory skills applicable to careers in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental science and research.
The B.Sc. is a three-year degree programme. However, as per the provisions of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020), a student may continue into the fourth year and earn a B.Sc. Honours degree.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary (10+2 / PUC) or equivalent with an aggregate of 40% or an equivalent CGPA and have studied Biology as one of the subjects are eligible.
