Orientation on Scholarship Opportunities
Date: 27 August, 2026
An orientation programme on National Scholarship Portal (NSP), State Scholarship Portal (SSP), and various private scholarship opportunities was organized for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students by the department of Life Sciences on 27/8/2026, M2 auditorium of the main block. Dr.C.C.S. Vasundhara, served as the resource person for the session. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the financial assistance available to support their higher education.
Students were introduced to the NSP and SSP portals, including the eligibility criteria, application procedures, required documents, renewal process, and important deadlines. The session also highlighted various private and institutional scholarships offered by organizations, foundations, and other agencies based on academic merit, financial need, and other eligibility criteria.
The orientation encouraged students to explore suitable scholarship opportunities and apply within the stipulated timelines. Overall, the programme helped UG and PG students understand the available financial-support schemes and encouraged them to make effective use of scholarship opportunities for continuing their education.
KJLMS Orientation For First-Year B.Sc Students

The LMS Orientation for first-year B.Sc. Life Sciences students was conducted on 07 August 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. The session introduced students to the Kristu Jayanti LMS and its role in supporting interactive and blended learning. Students were guided on password security, accessing learning materials, submitting assignments, participating in forums and quizzes, viewing grades, and receiving academic updates. A demonstration session addressed students’ queries and familiarized them with the key LMS functionalities. The session emphasized the importance of regular and responsible LMS usage for effective learning and academic progress

The LMS Orientation for first-year M.Sc. Life Sciences students was conducted on 01 August 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. The session familiarized students with the Kristu Jayanti LMS and its role in supporting interactive and blended learning. Students were guided on password security, accessing learning materials, submitting assignments, participating in forums and quizzes, viewing grades, and receiving academic updates. A practical demonstration addressed students’ queries and enhanced their understanding of the LMS functionalities. The session emphasized regular and responsible LMS usage for effective learning and academic progress.
NPTEL Orientation for V Semester UG Life Sciences

The Department of Life Sciences, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University, conducted an NPTEL Orientation Programme for the fifth-semester B.Sc. Triple Major students of BGB, MBG, and BBB on 17th July 2026 from 2:40 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the M1 Auditorium, Science Block. The orientation was organised to familiarise students with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and its role in enhancing academic learning and professional skills. During the session, the institutional mandate regarding the prescribed NPTEL course for each programme was explained in detail. Students were guided through the complete NPTEL workflow, including course enrolment, registration, assignment submission, examination, certification, and successful course completion. The significance of completing the mandatory NPTEL course as part of the academic curriculum was emphasised. The session also highlighted the advantages of NPTEL courses in developing subject knowledge, technical skills, and career readiness through learning from experts across premier institutions. Clear instructions were provided on important timelines, examination procedures, and certification requirements to ensure that students understood every stage of the process. An interactive discussion enabled students to clarify their queries regarding the course, registration, and assessment. The orientation concluded with an encouragement to actively participate in the assigned course and complete all the requirements to obtain the NPTEL certification.
NPTEL Orientation for III Semester UG Life Sciences

The Department of Life Sciences, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University, conducted an NPTEL Orientation Programme for the third-semester B.Sc. Triple Major students of BGB, MBG, and BBB on 17th July 2026 from 12:50 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the M1 Auditorium, Science Block. The session introduced students to the NPTEL platform and its role in enhancing academic learning through high-quality online courses. As this was the students' first exposure to NPTEL, they were provided with a comprehensive overview of the platform, its features, and its academic benefits, with hands-on experience in the portal. The mandatory NPTEL course prescribed for the current semester was explained in detail. Students were guided through the complete NPTEL workflow, including course enrolment, registration, assignment submission, examination procedures, certification, and successful course completion. Important timelines, the examination pattern, evaluation criteria, and certification requirements were also discussed. The session highlighted the importance of completing the mandatory course to fulfil the curriculum requirements and emphasised the opportunities NPTEL offers to strengthen subject knowledge, develop technical skills, and enhance career readiness through courses delivered by faculty from premier institutions. Students were informed about the departmental support available throughout the registration and course completion process. The interactive session concluded with the clarification of students' queries regarding course registration, examinations, and certification, followed by encouragement to actively participate in and successfully complete the prescribed NPTEL course within the stipulated timeline.
NPTEL Orientation of PG students in Life Sciences

The Department of Life Sciences, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, Kristu Jayanti University, organized an NPTEL Orientation Programme for the second-year postgraduate students of M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Microbiology, on 16th July 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the M3 Auditorium, Science Block. The orientation aimed to familiarize students with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and its significance in enhancing academic and professional competencies. During the session, the institutional guidelines regarding the mandatory NPTEL course assigned to each postgraduate programme were explained in detail. Students were informed about the course registration procedure, eligibility requirements, examination process, certification criteria, and the importance of successfully completing the course as part of the university's academic framework. The complete workflow of NPTEL, from enrolment to certification, was presented in a systematic and easy-to-understand manner. The session also highlighted the benefits of NPTEL courses in promoting interdisciplinary learning, skill development, and career advancement. Students were encouraged to adhere to the prescribed timelines and actively engage with the online learning platform to maximize their learning outcomes. Queries raised by the participants regarding course selection, examinations, and certification were addressed comprehensively during the interactive discussion.
