Bioventura: “Molecular Odyssey”, An Intra University Bio-fest for Post Graduates Students
Date: 26 September 2025
Bioventura, the intra-university bio-fest of Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University, Bengaluru, served as a dynamic platform for postgraduate students to showcase their talents and skills in the field of Life Sciences. More than just a fest, Bioventura became a true scientific carnival where minds converged, ideas ignited, and boundaries were redefined. The theme, “Molecular Odyssey”, explored the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying cellular processes, unraveling the mysteries of DNA, proteins, and signaling pathways that drove growth, adaptation, and evolution across diverse forms of life. The fest was inaugurated by the esteemed Fr. Dr. Marialal Joseph, Director, Research & Development, and Member of the Management, Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University. The Chief Guest, Ms. Deepa D. Uchil, Manager, R&D Project Management, Elanco Innovation and Alliance Centre, India LLP, Bengaluru, addressed the gathering and shared insights on the latest trends in pharmaceutical innovations and entrepreneurial opportunities in the life sciences sector.


Bioaura: “Vigyaandyuti”, An Intercollegiate Biofest for Undergraduates

The Department of Life Sciences at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) successfully hosted Bioaura 2025, an intercollegiate biofest designed to provide a vibrant platform for undergraduate students to exhibit their talents and skills in the field of Life Sciences. Bioaura was not just a fest it was a full-blown scientific carnival where minds collided, ideas sparked, and limits were redefined. This year, the fest grew bigger, bolder, and beyond boundaries, opening the gates not only to students of Life Sciences, but also to passionate minds from Pharmacy, B.Tech Biotechnology, and Medical Colleges.

The theme Vigyaandyuti – The Radiance of Science in a Desi Way reminded everyone that science was not confined to formulas and experiments alone, but also embodied the light of knowledge, innovation, history, and culture. The fest was inaugurated by esteemed Vice Chancellor, Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). The Chief Guest, Mr. Suraj Madhavan, Director and Co-founder at Innvocept Global Solutions, addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, highlighting the significance of entrepreneurship in science.

The fest featured eight events: Biomanager, Just-A-Minute, Debate, Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Potpourri, Millet Mania, and Poster Making. The fest witnessed the participation of over 235 students from various colleges and universities across Bengaluru. The winners and runners-up of the various events were felicitated by Fr. Deepu Joy, Director, Student Welfare Office, and Faculty Member, Department of Life Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), during the valedictory ceremony. St. Joseph’s University emerged as the runners-up while Mount Carmel College bagged the overall winners trophy. The entire event was coordinated under the guidance of the Life Science Club Coordinators: Dr. Indira M. N. and Dr. Saraswathi.


Connoisseur, Intra-departmental UG BioFest
Date: 28 August 2025
To spark scientific curiosity and create an engaging academic atmosphere, Connoisseur ’25 was organized on 28th August 2025 by the final-year students of the Life Sciences Department for the first- and second-year B.Sc. Life Sciences students. This bio-fest aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of fundamental biological concepts while providing a platform to exhibit their knowledge and talents through a variety of dynamic events. The fest was inaugurated by the esteemed Pro Vice Chancellor, Fr. Dr. Lijo P. Thomas, Member of the Management, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). The chief guest, Dr. Fathima Benazir J., Co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Azooka Labs, Bengaluru, addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, highlighting the significance of entrepreneurship in science. This grand event brings together passionate and enthusiastic minds in the field of biology. The Biofest is designed to inspire curiosity, nurture creativity, and promote collaboration among budding biologists, offering them an opportunity to explore the wonders of life sciences in a vibrant and celebratory spirit. This year, the theme “CELL-ESTIAL SAGA” beautifully intertwines the microscopic world of cells with the vastness of the cosmos, highlighting how life itself is a saga that begins within the cell. Through this theme, we celebrate the marvels of life sciences, where the cell becomes both a microcosm and a metaphor for the universe. From cellular communication and genetic orchestration to the boundless mysteries of evolution, the saga of the cell mirrors the cosmic journey of stars and galaxies. The CELL-ESTIAL SAGA is not just a theme it is an invitation to look deeper into the building blocks of life, while connecting them to the grandeur of the universe, reminding us that the smallest units can tell the largest stories. The entire event was coordinated under the guidance of Life Science Club Coordinators: Dr. Indra M N and Dr. Saraswathi. The fest featured 10 events: Biomanager, Quiz, Mayday, Debate, Biopreneur, Jam, Treasure Hunt, Photo Poetry, Texture Art, and Pot Pourri. The winners and runners-up of the various events were felicitated by the Fr. Deepu Joy, Director, Student Welfare Office, Faculty Member, Department of Life Sciences, Kristu Jayanti Deemed to be University on 30th August 2025.


Bioaura 2025, An intercollegiate UG biofest
Date: 25 February 2025
The Department of Life Sciences at Kristu Jayanti College successfully hosted Bioaura 2025, an intercollegiate UG biofest designed to enhance students' understanding and application of core scientific principles. The event, themed “Exploring Evolution: Darwinia,” provided a platform for students to refine their speech, logical reasoning, and analytical skills through various competitive events. The fest was organized by the final year undergraduate students and guided by Life Science Club Coordinators Dr. Roopa P and Dr. Deepak P. Bioaura 2025 aimed to stimulate intellectual curiosity and promote active participation in academic pursuits. To achieve this, the following events were conducted: Biopreneur, Biomanager, Just a Minute, Bioart, Photography, Evo-Quest, Debate, and Quiz. A total of 72 participants from 7 colleges joined the event.


Creatrix-2025, Life Science exhibition
Date: 29 January 2025
The Department of Life Sciences organized Creatrix-2025 on January 29, 2025, a Life Sciences exhibition highlighting the significance of the life sciences field and its technological advancements through innovative strategies. Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Principal, inaugurated the event, and he addressed the student community. He emphasized the crucial role of Life Sciences in shaping futuristic goals and driving scientific progress across various sectors. He also encouraged students to explore their potential in transforming exhibit ideas into entrepreneurial ventures.

Creatrix-2025 featured a state-of-the-art exhibition exclusively designed for undergraduate students. It showcased a diverse range of ingenious, practical, and sustainable prototypes, offering structured demonstrations of scientific concepts and technological advancements. There were 75 model exhibits were presented by the students of II and IV Semester students of Life sicences. Notably, several exhibits demonstrated the potential to evolve into start-ups, providing students with opportunities to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.

Adding to the event’s success, school students from various institutions visited Creatrix-2025, engaging with the exhibits and gaining valuable insights into their prospective applications. The exhibition proved highly beneficial, offering hands-on exposure to technical prototypes and real-world applications of Life Sciences in fields such as medicine, agriculture, sustainability, and waste management. Overall, Creatrix-2025 served as a dynamic platform that nurtured scientific curiosity, encouraged innovation, and fostered entrepreneurial aspirations among students.
