MA English Literature
Overview
The Master's programme in English Literature offered by the institution has evolved, integrating language, literary and cultural discourses into its ambit. This two-year programme offers a curriculum that explores literary trajectories, cultural traditions, and theoretical approaches that mark identity construction. Students are exposed to forms and relations that mark ‘English Studies’ through Classical Literature, Writings of the World, Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Literary Theory and Criticism, to name a few.
The academic rigour that the programme offers is strengthened by co-curricular activities such as seminars, workshops, and conferences that mediate theoretical knowledge, making it pragmatic. The curriculum also includes internships, theatrical productions, and a research project/dissertation, each carrying dedicated credits that enable students to gain hands-on experience, apply disciplinary knowledge, and develop research competence. An engagement of this kind opens career opportunities in academia, the publishing industry, the education sector and research.
