BA English Psychology
Overview
The BA English–Psychology Double Major is an interdisciplinary programme that brings together key ideas from language, literature, cultural studies, and behavioural sciences. English Studies develops core language abilities while inculcating creativity, critical thinking, and cultural literacy through diverse textual and interpretative practices, while the Psychology component offers a solid foundation for students aspiring to pursue careers or advanced study in fields such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Industrial Psychology, and Human Resource Management. The programme integrates technology-enabled pedagogies—including language laboratories, digital learning platforms, and interactive classroom activities—to enrich student engagement and build practical skills. By combining the analytical depth of English Studies with the scientific and applied dimensions of Psychology, the programme equips learners with strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and research competencies essential for both academic advancement and professional success. By the third year, students earn their undergraduate degree with English and Psychology as their chosen majors.
Upon completing the three-year programme, students may opt to pursue an Honours or Honours with Research programme in either Psychology or English. This allows them to make an informed choice about which discipline they wish to specialise in for advanced studies.
