Anti-Ragging Week Celebration – Creative Competitions
Date: 12 to 18 August 2026
The Department of Forensic Science, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, organised a series of creative competitions as part of the Anti-Ragging Week Celebration, from 12th August to 18th August 2026 with the objective of promoting a positive, respectful, inclusive, and ragging-free campus environment among students. The competitions provided students with an opportunity to express their ideas and perspectives on the importance of friendship, dignity, mutual respect, and a safe learning environment through creative forms of communication. The competitions were conducted under the theme “JOYFUL CAMPUS – A CAMPUS OF RESPECT, FRIENDSHIP & DIGNITY.” Participation was open to all students of the Department of Forensic Science.

Competitions Conducted
Three competitions were organised as part of the celebration:
1. Digital Poster Making – Students were encouraged to create visually engaging digital posters conveying messages against ragging and promoting a respectful and supportive campus culture.
2. Logo Design – Students designed creative logos representing the values of friendship, dignity, respect, inclusion, and a ragging-free campus.
3. Slogan Writing – Students developed short and impactful slogans highlighting the importance of mutual respect, kindness, equality, and responsible student behaviour.

Participation and Submission
The competitions received active participation from the students of the Department of Forensic Science. A total of 24 students participated, submitting 27 entries across the three competitions. The additional entries demonstrate that some students participated in more than one competition, reflecting their enthusiasm and engagement with the Anti-Ragging Week activities. The entire submission process was conducted online, enabling students to submit their creative works conveniently and ensuring an organised and accessible collection of entries.

Expert Lecture on World Day of Social Justice “Reimagining Justice for the 21st Century”

The Department of Forensic Science, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), organised an expert lecture on 20th February 2026 in observance of World Day of Social Justice. The session was conducted at A3 Audi, Admin Block, for Second Year B.Sc. Forensic Science, Criminology, and Biochemistry students, with an enthusiastic participation of around 100 students.

The resource person, Ms. Shruti Das, Assistant Professor, School of Law, delivered an insightful session on the evolving dimensions of justice in contemporary society. She discussed several landmark case laws that have shaped the framework of social justice and emphasised the judiciary’s role in upholding constitutional values and human rights.

To enhance understanding, she drew parallels between legal principles and themes portrayed in contemporary movies depicting social injustice and systemic challenges. The session was interactive and enlightening, encouraging students to critically reflect on justice and societal responsibility in the 21st century.
