Expert Lecture on World Day of Social Justice “Reimagining Justice for the 21st Century”

The Department of Forensic Science, School of Biological and Forensic Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), organised an expert lecture on 20th February 2026 in observance of World Day of Social Justice. The session was conducted at A3 Audi, Admin Block, for Second Year B.Sc. Forensic Science, Criminology, and Biochemistry students, with an enthusiastic participation of around 100 students.

The resource person, Ms. Shruti Das, Assistant Professor, School of Law, delivered an insightful session on the evolving dimensions of justice in contemporary society. She discussed several landmark case laws that have shaped the framework of social justice and emphasised the judiciary’s role in upholding constitutional values and human rights.

To enhance understanding, she drew parallels between legal principles and themes portrayed in contemporary movies depicting social injustice and systemic challenges. The session was interactive and enlightening, encouraging students to critically reflect on justice and societal responsibility in the 21st century.
