Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University)

At Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), we believe learning doesn’t just happen inside classrooms or through textbooks. Some of the most powerful lessons come when young people get to listen, interact, and exchange ideas with those who have already shaped the world in great ways.

That is exactly what the signature program of KJU, Vichaarmanthan, is all about. The name translates to “churning of ideas” — and that’s what happens every time. Students have the opportunity to meet Visionaries leaders, thinkers, and innovators who bring fresh perspectives and share real-life stories. It’s not just a lecture; it’s a conversation that challenges the way we think and encourages us to dream bigger.

Why Vichaarmanthan Matters

The primary purpose of Vichaarmanthan is straightforward: to establish a connection between young learners and inspiring personalities from diverse backgrounds. Every session is designed to spark curiosity, encourage dialogue, and provide students with the opportunity to learn directly from the experiences of leaders.

Instead of only reading about these personalities in newspapers or seeing them on TV, our students get to meet them in person, ask questions, and hear their journeys firsthand. That’s what makes Vichaarmanthan such a powerful experience. Some of the Great Minds Who Were Part of It Over the years, Kristu Jayanti University has been proud to welcome many distinguished personalities to the campus through Vichaarmanthan. Their presence has inspired and motivated generations of Jayantians.

Here are just a few names from the long list of eminent visitors:

  • Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, 31st March, 2011, Former President of India, who encouraged students to be the ‘Unique U’ dream and innovate.
  • Justice N. Santosh Hegde, former Supreme Court Judge, spoke about truth and justice.
  • Dr. C. Rangarajan, Former RBI Governor, shared his insights on India’s economy.
  • Shri Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder of Infosys, who inspired participants with his talk about entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Dr. K. Sivan and Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former chairman of ISRO, who inspired students with stories of India’s space missions.
  • Padma Shri V.V.S. Laxman, cricket legend, who spoke about discipline and teamwork.
  • Prof. C.N.R. Rao, Bharat Ratna awardee and renowned scientist, who highlighted the importance of research.
  • Dr. Tessy Thomas, the “Missile Woman of India,” who motivated students to pursue science and technology.
  • Shri Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister, who shared his vision for India’s governance and development.
  • Dr. Shayama Chona, an educationist and social reformer, who spoke about inclusivity and empowerment in education.

Each of these guests brought unique wisdom and stories that continue to stay with our students long after the session is over.

The Impact on Students
The beauty of Vichaarmanthan lies in its impact. Imagine listening to a scientist who helped launch rockets into space, or having a former President of our country on Campus, or a judge who always stood by what was right. When students hear directly from such visionaries, their ideas about life and their goals instantly expand.

These sessions make them think differently, question more deeply, and believe in their own ability to contribute to society. The opportunity to interact with role models face-to-face helps students gain confidence, sharpen their skills, and see the bigger picture of life.

Many Jayantians often say that a particular Vichaarmanthan session changed the way they looked at their own career or gave them the courage to follow their passion. That’s the kind of lifelong impact this program creates.

A Tradition of Inspiration
Vichaarmanthan is not just another event; it’s a tradition that has become part of Kristu Jayanti University’s identity. It shows our commitment to shaping students into well-rounded individuals who are ready for the future.

Every time a leader steps onto our campus and shares their story, they plant seeds of inspiration. Those seeds grow into dreams, goals, and actions that push our students to aim higher

Looking Ahead
As Kristu Jayanti University continues its journey, Vichaarmanthan will keep bringing in voices that matter. From scientists to social activists, from global diplomats to artists and entrepreneurs, each session will add to the legacy of learning that makes KJU unique.

At its heart, Vichaarmanthan is about reminding students that education is not only about exams and grades, it’s about connecting with people, exchanging ideas, and being inspired by visionaries for shaping a better tomorrow.

✨ Vichaarmanthan at Kristu Jayanti University isn’t just about listening to great minds; it’s about becoming one.
