Testimonials for Theatre Club

Being a part of the Kristu Jayanti Theatre Club has been one of the most transformative chapters of my life. I joined the club when I was in my first year, not knowing that it would go on to shape my journey, my mindset, and who I am as a person.

My first play was “Hasivu” — and I still remember the rush of stepping into that character, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself. That play didn’t just introduce me to theatre; it gave me a team, a second family, and a platform where I truly belonged.

One of the greatest honors for me was being chosen as the Secretary of the Theatre Club. It was a big responsibility, but it taught me so much — how to lead, take initiative, support others, and manage both stage and people with confidence. Theatre didn’t just teach me how to act; it taught me how to step up.

My favourite memories? The practice sessions. Those hours of rehearsal were filled with laughter, ideas, music, chaos, and pure joy. We bonded, we grew, we made memories that I’ll carry with me for a lifetime. That’s where the real magic of theatre lived — not just in the final performance, but in every moment spent creating it together.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Pavithra Ma’am, who was my first mentor and showed me what true passion for theatre looks like. A big thank you to Steffy Ma’am, Ravishankar Sir, Byrappa Sir, and all the teacher coordinators of the Theatre Club — thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and guiding me through this unforgettable journey.

As I step out of college, I carry with me not just performances, but people, lessons, and stories that have become a part of who I am. Theatre has made me more responsible, more expressive, and more human.

To all my juniors and every member of the Theatre Club — take that one step forward, say yes to the stage, and you’ll discover so much more than just acting. You’ll discover yourself.

Thank you.

Hello Everyone,
Acting has been my interest since childhood. I acted in small dramas at school. But then I knew nothing about drama and acting, I was learning from others and doing what my teachers told. Since I worked for Kannada department programs at the college, my teacher, Dr. Ravishankar A.K. suggested me to joined the Theatre Club and learn acting and perform in college.

Then I joined the theater club, Pavithra ma'am was my first teacher in acting. I was fascinated by her passion and knowledge of acting. She trained us as a professional, everything was professional, from prayer to thanking the audience and ma'am was with us in every step. My first drama was 'Hasivu' that shows the importance of hunger. It gave me a family of new actors, gave me acting skills, changed my way of thinking and made me famous in college. Since then we got opportunities to perform the same in many competitions and the best part is that we performed in front of the villagers and they loved it. I was part of the theatre team of Bangalore North University, which participated in South East Zone cultural and literary fest . Then in my final year I got a chance to act in the play 'Dhanvantari Chikitse', where I guided my juniors and taught them acting which I had learnt from Pavithra ma'am.

The theater is not just an art form, it is a lifestyle. It makes you a better person, boosts our confidence, changes the way we see the world and teaches discipline. The time I spent with the theater club was the best time in my whole graduation life. Everyone on the team sat together and had a food, enjoyed together, quarreled with each other, and worked together. In the end everyone wanted our play to be the best and we all practiced together for it. I believe, what theatre club has taught me will always help me succeed in life.

Thank you.

Being a part of theatre at KJC has been one of the most beautiful and meaningful journeys of my life. It’s not just about performing. It’s a place where you discover yourself, express your true potential, and grow into a better version of who you are.

Over the last two years, I’ve had the chance to be involved in many ways. Acting in *Hasivu* was such a powerful experience, and handling the sound system during *Dhanvantri Chikitse* taught me so much behind the scenes. I also had the opportunity to lead a team for *Dhanvantri Chikitse*, which helped me build confidence and sharpen my learning skills. One of the best parts was getting to perform in villages. Those moments were raw, real, and unforgettable. Truly core memories for a lifetime.

Theatre taught me the value of time, discipline, and commitment. It also made me understand how important the art of observation is. Something we naturally pick up in theatre by watching and learning from each other. The guest talks were always special. Listening to experienced artists share their stories and practical insights opened up our minds in so many ways.

The mentors we had for our plays and competitions were the best we could ask for. Their passion and support made every performance a learning journey. I’ll always carry these memories close to my heart.

Thank you to Prof. Dr. Ravishankar A K for introducing us to this wonderful world of theatre. His guidance and encouragement have made all of this possible. And a big thank you to the theatre club and everyone who has been a part of this beautiful journey.

Theatre at KJC is not just a chapter in my student life. It’s a part of who I’ve become.
