‘Sports’ is a single word that encompasses all the qualities of the young and energetic. Every person strives towards mental and physical health, and it is evident that a life full of games and physical activity result in a healthy being. The Sports and Games Club at Kristu Jayanti College aims at encouraging and training interested, talented sportspersons and lead them in a discovering journey of physical strength and enhancement of sports skills. In order to achieve these objectives, the Club members visualize and execute relevant events and activities that benefit the students and the faculties on the sports front. The Club is responsible for four major events; Selections and Coaching, Acharyotsava, Kridotsava, and Chavra Cup, designed to address various sports and games so that very enthusiast has their place to showcase their ability in the respective sports event. Apart from the said activities, the club also engages in hosting and conducting other intra and inter-collegiate events at the Institution and University level.
The Club comprises of efficient faculty coordinators and three student coordinators, who are guided by the Physical Director- Mr. Arockia Raj.
KRIDOTSAVA Inauguration

KRIDOTSAVA, the annual sports event for undergraduate students, was held on October 16th, 2023, with the inauguration led by our esteemed Principal Fr. Dr. Augustine George, accompanied by the revered fathers of the management. The promotion was hosted in college quadrangle in the presence of both teachers and the student community. The dance crew's impressive performance and the showcasing of various sports by the college team players enhanced the event's promotion beautifully. Students were divided in to eight teams, each team for seven distinct sporting events. These events took place from October 16th to November 4th. The inauguration of Kridotsava 2023-24 was effectively coordinated by Prof. Arockiaraj, the Physical Education Director, Ms. Gomathy P, a Physical Education Teacher at the college, and members of the Centre for Physical Education and Fitness Committee.
Gold Medal for India-Karate

The International Karate Tournament was held in London, England.
The British Academy of Shotokan Karate, United Kingdom, organised and conducted the tournament. With participants from 35 countries competing against each other, 15 students representing India in different categories were selected by the World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organization (WFSKO).
The tournament holds recognition from both The World Body of Karate and the World Karate Federation (WKF). Five students were selected from Karnataka and the tournament commenced on the 8th of October, 2023 in London.
Following years of intensive training, unwavering dedication, and relentless hard work, Mohamed Abubakr Ali, a student at Kristu Jayanti College in Bangalore, earned the opportunity to compete in an international event after winning numerous national tournaments.
Competing in the tough matches and bouts with many participants from other countries, Mohamed Abubakr Ali has come out victorious, winning a Gold Medal for India in his Belt and Age Category.
Jayantian Cup

Jayantian Cup an Intercollegiate Basketball men and women tournament was inaugurated on October 3rd 2023 by our beloved Principal Fr. Dr. Augustine George, along with Mr. S. Arockiaraj, Physical Education Director and Ms. Gomathy P, Physical Education Teacher. The match was held in the college for two days. Where 28 Colleges from various parts of Bangalore participated in the tournament. The splendid performance of the various teams in the tournament was displayed by the players of the different colleges’ added beauty to the tournament. The events were scheduled for two days on 03rd and 04th October 2023. The Valedictory ceremony of Jayantian Cup 2023 was held on 04th October were beloved Principal Fr. Dr. Augustine George. The Tournament was efficiently organized under the leadership of Prof. Arockiaraj, had distributed the prizes. Physical Education Director of the college along with the Committee members of the Centre for Physical Education and Fitness and Student coordinators.

The Bangalore North University Women’s Basketball Tournament took place at Kristu Jayanti College on 11th July 2023, where eight colleges participated in an intense competition. Commencing at 9 am, the tournament highlighted remarkable skill and teamwork. Kristu Jayanti College secured victory, displaying exceptional prowess. Dr. Augustine George, the Principal, and Prof. Arockiaraj, Director of the Centre for Physical Education, presided over the awards ceremony, celebrating the victorious team. The tournament nurtured sportsmanship and a sense of camaraderie. This victory stands as a testament to the college’s dedication to comprehensive student growth. The event was set to become a cherished memory in the university’s sports history, motivating upcoming generations to strive for excellence both in academics and sports.
South Zone Basketball Tournament (Winners)
Date: 27 & 28 January, 2023
The Women’s Basketball Team of Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) secured the winning title in the South Zone Basketball Tournament held at Paisakary Deva Matha Floodlight Stadium, Kannur Kerala on the 27th and 28th of January 2023. They defeated Kannur University in the semifinals and secured victory over Providence College, Calicut by a close margin of 58-55 to bring home the trophy. Special thanks to the college basketball coach, Mr Tankachan for moulding the students and thanks to Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director, Kristu Jayanti College and the faculty coordinators and student coordinators of the centre for physical education and fitness.

As an initiation to the forthcoming camp, the Basketball selection trials for men were held at our college Basketball court on December 6th, 2022. Students from different colleges and part of the university attended the selection trials. Of the 31 girls who attended the trails, 22 were selected for the camp after tough scrutiny. The trials were held in the presence of our college basketball coach, Mr. M.C.Thankachan, Prof. Arockia Raj, Kristu Jayanti College's Physical Education Director along with the sports officials of the different colleges of the university.

Felicitation for the winners from Kristu Jayanti College of the different events held by the Bengaluru North University for the academic year 2022-23 was held on 21st of November 2022 at 11.30 a.m. in the Main block quadrangle of Kristu Jayanti College. Department of Physical Education and Fitness organized the felicitation ceremony. The winners of different sport events, which include Basketball, Throwball, Cricket, Taekwondo and chess were felicitated and honoured in the gathering. Felicitation for the winners of Acharyotsava 2022 held on 5th of September 2022 at 12.30 p.m. in the Main block quadrangle of Kristu Jayanti College. Department of Physical Education and Fitness organized the felicitation ceremony. Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Principal, congratulated and distributed the trophy and prizes to the winners of the event and Father appreciated the sportsmen spirit of the teams. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rev. Fr. Lijo P Thomas Financial Administrator, Rev, Fr. Emmanuel P.J., Director Kristu Jayanti College of Law and faculty, Department of Psychology, Fr. Joshy, Head, Department of English, Fr.Deepu Faculty Department of Life Science. With 40 points, Admin Staffs secured Overall Championship and the Deanery of Humanities and the Deanery of Science and Law were declared combined runner’s up with 37.5 points. The Deanery of Commerce was declared as the best cheering team of the event.
ACHARYOTSAVA (Annual Sports Meet for Faculty)

ACHARYOTSAVA is an important day at Kristu Jayanti College, and is a platform to all the staff members of KJC to showcase their sports skills. This was initiated in the year 2017 with relevant support from Kristu Jayanti College of Management. Acharyostava 2022 was inaugurated on September 2nd, 2022 by our beloved Principal Fr.Dr. Augustine George. The staff members were divided into four groups based on their respective deaneries along with the team of Non-Teaching Staff members. The following games were conducted for Men and Women; Cricket-Ball out (men), Basketball- Free throw men, Volleyball (men), Throw ball (women), Dodge Ball (Women), Dodge Ball (men) Football Penalty shoot (men) and Zigzag Ball Passing Relay (Women) Badminton (men & women) and Badminton mixed. The badminton matches conducted on 31st August and 1st September and all other games were conducted on 2nd September 2022. Winners will be awarded with Medals, Certificates and an Overall Championship Trophy. Administrative Staff won the overall championship and Deaneries of Humanities and Science & Law were declared joint runners. All the events were conducted under the leadership of Prof. Arockiaraj, Physical Education Director and the members of the Centre for Physical Education and Fitness Committee members.

Men's intra-collegiate selection trials for throw ball were held at KristuJayanti College on September 12th, 2022, in the presence of Mr. Sharan, the KristuJayanti Throw ball team's coach, Prof. Arockia Raj, KristuJayanti College's Physical Education Director, as well as the sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the day of the selection, 34 students showed up to the throw ball court and 15 were selected as a result of tough scrutiny.

The Basketball selection trial for the college team was held on 06th September, 2022 at the KJC basketball court in the presence of the college Physical Education Director and Basketball Coach. 11 players were selected for the professional Coaching out of 44 players. The trials were conducted for the second year UG students.

The collegiate women's basketball team's selection trial were held on September 7, 2022, at the KJC court. The director of physical education and the basketball coach were also present. Out of 44 players, 11 were chosen to get professional coaching. The second-year UG students were the target audience for the trials.
Throw ball Selection trials for Men
On September 9, 2022, Mr. Sharan, the coach of the KristuJayanti Throw ball team, Prof. Arockia Raj, the director of physical education at KristuJayanti College, the sports coordinators, and the professors from the sports clubs attended the men's in-house selection trials for throw ball men. Totally 34 students showed up to the throw ball court on the day of the selection, and 15 were chosen. There were many talented players, making it challenging to choose the final group of participants. It was difficult to select a winner from the excellent competitors.
Intercollegiate Men's Basketball Championship
The 25th and 26th of July 2022, intercollegiate men's basketball championship for Bangalore North University held at AES National College in Gouribidanur. The competition featured Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous-Bangalore. Won the first game against the SKV College of Physical Education in Chikkabelapur with a score of 40–28. Won the second game against the SDC College in Kolar with a score of 60–42. Won the third game against the St. Aloysius degree college with a score of 50–30. Won the fourth game against the AES National Gouribidanur with a score of 64–41. The intercollegiate men's basketball championship at Bangalore North University was won by Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous-Bangalore.
Intercollegiate Football Men's Championship
The St. Vincent Pallotti College hosted the Bangalore North University intercollegiate football men's championship on July 27 and 28, 2022. The competition featured Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous-Bangalore. Kristu Jayanti College won the opening pre-quarterfinal match against SDC degree College Kolar with a score of 2-0. And defeated SBM Jain College KGF in the second match's quarterfinals by a score of 3-0, defeated Dr. SR Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing in the third match's semi-finals by a score of 2-0, and defeated HKBK Degree College in the fourth match's finals by a score of 5-3. The intercollegiate football championship for men at Bangalore North University was won by Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous-Bangalore.

Bangalore North University inter collegiate Basketball women Championship was held at New Horizon College Marathahalli on 16th August 2022. Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous-Bangalore participated in the tournament. Won the first match Semi-finals against Army institute of management with 30-10 points and in the finals won against New Horizon College Marathahalli 53-9. Certificate Course in Sports Psychology
The Center for Physical Education and Fitness, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, hosted a Certificate Course in Sports Psychology. The three-month certificate programme, which runs from February 12th to May 28th, 2028, is meant to improve the skills of Physical Education Directors, Teachers, Coaches, and Sports Personnel at the college/school level. A total of 237 delegates from across the country registered for the event.
Prof. S. Arockiaraj, Physical Education Director, gave a welcome address after the invocation at the Certificate Course's opening. The Principal, Fr. Augustine George, gave the Inaugural Address. He concentrated in Sports Psychology, which is a field that focuses on the performance of athletes. A degree in sport psychology can lead to a job in the sports and recreation industry. Inauguration of the Certificate Course in Sports Psychology Mr. Alex Anthony, an Olympian, was the Chief Guest and spoke about many elements and potential in the field of sports psychology.
The Certificate Course Valedictory Ceremony began with a Silent Prayer and was followed by a welcome address by Prof. S. Arockiaraj, Director of Physical Education. The Valedictory Address was given by Rev.Fr.Emmauel P J, Director, Kristu Jayanti College of Law. Dr. Jini K Gopinath, Chief Psychology Officer, your DOST, and Former Peak Performance Coach, Team Mumbai Indians, IPL, spoke about the relevance and necessity for sports psychology, as well as opportunities in the sector.

The tournament was held at BGS College, Chikkaballapur, 28th and 29th December 2021. Where our college Athletic team had participated in the tournament and grabbed 8 silver medals and 1 bronze medals. The students were awarded with certificates and Medals.
Football Selection Trials for Women
Football women intra collegiate selection trials conducted in Kristu Jayanti college on 28th November, 2021 in presence of Mr. Krishnamurthy (KVS-Air Force), coach of Kristu Jayanti football team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 16 students were present at football ground and they all were selected and provided with the training camp. due to their overpowering performance. It was a tough call for the selection of players.
Throw ball Fans Club 2021
The throw ball team from Kristu Jayanti College in Bangalore, led by coach Sharan, put on a fantastic performance. They were placed in second place. The match was held at on 26th September, 2021. It was a club match conducted at Gopalan Sports Center, Hoodi, Bangalore. Trophy, certificates, and medals were presented to the students. Our players gave a tough competition and acquired the place. It was an exciting match with many turns of events but our players eventually played turning the odds in their favor. The throw ball ground for the match was well maintained and it catered all the needs of the players. The players along with the coach put on an amazing match and brought laurence to the college.

Expert Talk On Excellence In Sports Psychological Preparedness
As part of the Certificate Course on Sports Psychology, an expert discussion was arranged by the Department of Physical Education in conjunction with the Department of Social Work, on 12 December 2020 by Dr. Guneet Inder Jit Kaur. She is a Sports Psychologist and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sports Psychology, School of Sports Sciences, Central University of Rajasthan was the resource person of the day. Dr Guneet Inder Jit Kaur, the resource person, provided her understanding of excellence in psychological preparedness for sports.
Prof. Arockiaraj S, Director of Physical Education, and Dr Jonas Richard A, Head Dept. of Social Work and Director, Center for Life Skill Education were honored on the occasion.
Inauguration of New Football Turf

Inauguration of New Grass Playground took place on 16th of October 2020, at 1:30p.m. in Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. The New nature-based Grass turf playground inaugural ceremony of the College Playground commenced with a welcome Dr. Justin Nelson Michael Director, Centre for Research welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. James Narithookil, Superior CMI Ashram Bengaluru was the chief guest of the Inaugural ceremony. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Principal, Rev. Fr. Lijo P Thomas Financial administrator. Rev. Fr. Som Zacharia, Director, Library & Information Technology, and Director, Infrastructure Development and Rev, Fr. Emmanuel P.J.,Director Kristu Jayanti College of Law and faculty Deparment of Psychology. Chief guest Rev. Fr. James Narithookil addressed the gathering and officially opened the Playground by cutting the ribbon.
In the end, Dr. J. Nelson Michael, Director, Centre for Research, thanked all the invited guests and participants for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence. He also thanked Kristu Jayanti College Management for providing all kind of facilities in the new grass turf Playground.
ACHARYOTSAVA (Annual Sports Meet for Faculty)

ACHARYOTSAVA is an important day at Kristu Jayanti College, and is a platform to all the staff members of KJC to showcase their sports skills. This was initiated the year 2017 with relevant support from Kristu Jayanti College Management. Acharyostava 2020 was inaugurated on the October 16, 2020; and the staff members were divided into four groups based on their respective deaneries along with the team of Non-Teaching Staff members. The following games were conducted for Men and Women; Cricket-Ball out (men), Basketball men, Volleyball (men), Throw ball (women), Dodge Ball (Women) Football Penalty shoot (men) and Zigzag Ball Passing Relay-Women. All matches of all the games were conducted on 16th October 2020. Winners will be awarded with Medals, Certificates and an Overall Championship Trophy. Administrative Staff won the overall championship with the highest score of 60 points and Deaneries of Humanities overall runners with 35 points. All the events were conducted under the leadership of Prof. Arockiaraj, Physical Education Director and the sports committee members.

The Inauguration ceremony took place on 10th of October 2020, at 2:00p.m. in Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore,in a virtual mode and the Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Tinu Yohannan, former Indian cricketer and bowling coach of Kerala Team. Certificate course on Sports Psychology was organized by the Department of Physical Education in collaboration with the Department of Social Work. The Certificate course on Sports Psychology is scheduled for 30hours from October 10th to December 19, 2020. It is designed to support the Physical Education Directors / Teachers / Coaches / Sports Personnel at the College/School level. The event witnessed a participation of 85 delegates from across the globe, the session began with the welcome address, by Prof Dr. Gokilavani, Professor, Dept. of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru.

The event witnessed a participation of 612 delegates from across the globe, with delegates from different countries. International Webinar on World Sports Journalists Day-Prospectus and Challenges in Sports Journalism was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Augustine George, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College. Father said that In sports journalism as technology introduced new developments like the radio, television and the internet, the focus of sports coverage shifted from the play by play to statistical analysis of the game and background pieces on the players. This was also coupled with a massive increase in sports amongst the general public. In the modern scenario sports students have lot of job opportunities in sports Journalism for the future.

International Webinar on New Trends in Sports and Physical Education was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Josekutty P D, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College. Father said that sports and games are integral part education every individual should learn to balance Education and Sports in their life.
The three day International Webinar had commenced with key note address by Davenell Frederick Whatmore International cricketer and followed by questions and answer session which was moderated by Journalist Kiran Tom Sajan. And the second session was addressed by Prof.Sen Be Mathews Kristu Jayanti College, on Managing as a Mentor. Second day first session was addressed by Ramji Srinivasan Founder-MD-Sports Dynamix-S & C- Indian Cricket Team on Importance Strenth and Conditioning in Sports and second session was addressed by Dr.Juby Thomas, Kristu Jayanti College on Sports as an industry.
Third day first session was addressed by Dr.Manoj,T.I. Director Student’s welfare (S & G) KAU Member, Administrative Board, Kerala State Sports Council on scope of Research in Physical Education. Second session was addressed by Laxmi Pandrala Founder CEO LAMI.fit. All the session at the end had a questions and answer by delegates which was answered by the expert speakers.

Football for men is conducted under the professional coaching of Mr. Krishnamurthy.
The duration for this academic year football coaching was scheduled from 8thJuly, 2019 to 31 January 2020. Selection trails were kept before the coaching where students are selected for playing matches. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching practice matches are arranged to give more real match experience.

Cricket for men is conducted under the professional coaching of Mr. Riyaz Pasha. The duration for this academic year cricket coaching was scheduled from 20th July, 2019 to 31 January 2020. Selection trails were kept before the coaching where students are selected for playing matches. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching practice matches are arranged to give more real match experience.
Basketball Coaching for Women
Basketball for women is conducted under the professional coaching of Mr. Thankachan M.C. This academic year basketball coaching was scheduled from 8th July, 2019 to 24 January 2020. Selection trails were held before the coaching and students are selected for playing matches. Around 54 sessions were conducted, of which 3 practice matches within campus were organized and 1 outside. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching, practice matches are organized to give a real match experience.
Football Selection Trials for Men
Football men intra collegiate selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college from 3 to 5 July ,2019 in presence of Mr. Krishnamurthy (KVS-Air Force), coach of Kristu Jayanti football team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 135 students were present at the football ground from which 40 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Taekwondo Coaching for Women
Taekwondo for women is conducted under the professional coaching of Master Prasad.
The duration for this academic year Taekwondo coaching was scheduled from 4th July, 2019 to 31 January 2020. Selection trails were kept before the coaching where students are selected for playing matches. Around 43 sessions were conducted, of which 5 practice matches were organized within campus and 4 outside. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching practice matches are arranged to give a more real match experience.

Taekwondo for men is conducted under the professional coaching of Master Prasad.

Taekwondo Men Intra Collegiate selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college on 2 and 3 July,2019 in presence of Master Prasad, coach of Kristu Jayanti Taekwondo team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 18 students were present at quadrangle from which 15 were selected and provided with the training camp.

Taekwondo women intra collegiate selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti College on 2 and 3 July,2019 in presence of Master Prasad, coach of Kristu Jayanti taekwondo team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 16 students were present at quadrangle from which 13 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Throw ball Coaching for Women
Throw ball for women is conducted under the professional coaching of Mr. Sharan.
The duration for this academic year throw ball coaching was scheduled from 11th July, 2019 to 31 January 2020. Selection trails were kept before the coaching from where students are selected for playing matches. Around 56 sessions were conducted, of which 3 practice matches were organized within campus and 8 outside. For the first 10 days continuous camp is conducted and after 10 days there is an everyday evening coaching from 4.30pm to 5.30 pm organized by the college. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching practice matches are arranged to give a more real match experience.
Volleyball Coaching for Men
Volleyball for men is conducted under the professional coaching of Mr. Vishwanath.
The duration for this academic year volleyball coaching was scheduled from 15th July, 2019 to 31 January 2020. Selection trails were kept before the coaching from where students are selected for playing matches. Around 26 sessions were conducted, of which 21 practice matches were organized within campus and 24 outside. The professional coaches have been appointed to coach the students, to improve their skills and performance at the State and the National level. Along with coaching practice matches are arranged to give a more real match experience.

Volleyball Men intra collegiate selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college on 10 and 11 July, 2019 in presence of Mr. Vishwanath (defense) coach of Kristu Jayanti Volleyball team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College along with the sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 57 students were present at the throwball court from which 26 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Throw ball Selection trials for Men
Throwball women intra collegiate selection trials were conducted at Kristu Jayanti College on 8 and 9 July, 2019 in presence of Mr. Sharan coach of Kristu Jayanti Throwball team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College along with the sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 48 students were present at the throwball court from which 33 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Cricket Selection trials for Men
Cricket men intra collegiate selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college from 17 to 19th July, 2019 in presence of Mr. Riyaz Pasha, coach of Kristu Jayanti Cricket team, Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 103 students were present at college ground from which 32 were selected and provided with the training camp.

Basketball women selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college on 4thand 5th July,2019 in presence of Mr.Thankachan M.C(Indian Army) coach of Kristu Jayanti basketball team, Prof. Arockia Raj, physical education director of Kristu Jayanti College and sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 28 students were present at the basketball court from which 24 were selected and provided with the training camp.

Badminton Selection trials for Women
Badminton Women selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti college on 24th and 25th July, 2019 in the presence of Mr. Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College along with the sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 26 students were present at college badminton court from which 6 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Badminton Selection Trials for Men
Badminton Men selection trials was conducted at Kristu Jayanti College on 22nd and 23rd July, 2019 in presence of Prof. Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of Kristu Jayanti College along with the sports coordinators and sports club faculty. On the selection day, 56 students were present at college badminton court, from which 8 were selected and provided with the training camp.
Athletics Selection trials for Men and Women
Athletics for Men and Women selection trials was conducted at KristuJayanti college from 15-16 July, 2019 in presence of Prof.Arockia Raj, Physical Education Director of KristuJayanti College along with the Student sports coordinators and sports committee. In the Men section 22 were selected for college Athletic Team among 35 Men students. In the Women section18 were selected for college Athletic among 31Women students. All the students were provided with the training camp for 10 days at Sri Kanteerava Stadium.
Selection Trials:
The selection trials for various sports and games started on 21 June 2017 and ended on 25 July 2017. A total student count of 469 attended the selection trials out of which a total of 178 students were selected for the coaching camp. This year the selections were conducted for Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Badminton, Cricket, Athletics, Chess, Boxing, and Taekwondo.
The coaching camp was held for various sports in the campus playground from June to March 2017. A team of qualified and dedicated coaches are assigned to various games and their objective is to strengthen the team in the respective games. The teams are also given opportunities to represent the college at various levels of tournaments.
Kridothsava 2017-18:
Kridothsava is an Annual sports festival of the college, celebrated in the month of December. It is celebrated not only to promote sports and games, but to encourage the students in wholesome development. All the students were made into eight groups, and various games were conducted on knock out basis from 27th Nov to 13th December.
Kridothsava- Annual Athletic meet was celebrated on 16th of December 2017. The meet starts at 8.30 AM with the contingents March past with St Michael School Band team lead by the college NCC Cadets. The chief Guest for the day was Mr. N.CHANDRASHEKAR RAI Chief Ticket Inspector South Western Railway Banglore inaugurated the sports meet with the courageous speech along with guest of honour Mr.Jose George. After the formal function we had all the track and field events.
The felicitation started at 4.00 PM, Father Principal and Vice Principal distributed the Trophies for the overall Winners for the Games and Athletics. The Individual championship for men is Mr.Ragesh .M.R, VI Sem BSc. The Individual championship for Women is Ms.ABIGAIL VENKAT IV Sem B.A.

All the events are conducted under the leadership of Prof. Arockiaraj, Physical Education Director, and sports committee members.
Sports Achievements for the year 2017-18:
The students are given plenty of opportunities to represent the college and Bangalore University in various tournaments.
The best players in their respective fields are put together in a team and the team is sent to various tournaments for competition. The various accolades and prizes won by students is testimony to the training students go through and the talent they possess.

Selection Trials:
The selection trials for various sports and games started on 27 June 2016 and ended on 20 July 2016. A total student count of 423 attended the selection trials out of which a total of 197 students were selected for the coaching camp. This year the selections were conducted for Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Badminton, Cricket, Athletics, Table Tennis, Chess, Boxing, and Taekwondo.
The coaching camp was held for various sports in the campus playground from July to March 2016. A team of qualified and dedicated coaches are assigned to various games and their objective is to strengthen the team in the respective games. The teams are also given opportunities to represent the college at various levels of tournaments.
Kridothsava 2016-17:
Kridothsava 2016-17 is an Intra-Collegiate annual sports and games meet conducted to engage all student sports enthusiasts to participate in events of their choice. The entire student community is encouraged to participate and on an average 40% of the student community represents itself in this event. The Field events are conducted a week before the Kridothsava day and the track events are conducted on the annual meet day. This year Kridothsava was organized on 17th December 2016, and was inaugurated by Mr. M V Ramakrishna Prasad, Superintendent of Police. His speech marked a wonderful start to the annual sports and games meet as it focused on sportsmanship and friendly competition.
Sports Achievements for the year 2016-17:
The students are given plenty of opportunities to represent the college and Bangalore University in various tournaments. The best players in their respective fields are put together in a team and the team is sent to various tournaments for competition. The various accolades and prizes won by students is testimony to the training students go through and the talent they possess.
