Clay Modelling Workshop

The Fine Arts Club organized a Clay Modelling Workshop on 25/03/26 at Green Park, benefiting 63 participants. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Kaushik Das, alumni and founding member of the Fine Arts Club, who is a BNU Winner in Clay Modelling and South Zone 4th Position Holder. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of clay modelling and sculpting through interactive hands-on activities. Participants learned basic shaping techniques, texture creation, and creative design skills under expert guidance. The workshop encouraged artistic expression, enhanced creativity and fine motor skills, and inspired students to actively engage in fine arts and extracurricular activities.

Alumni Meet

The Alumni Meet was successfully organized on 24/03/26 at the A1 Auditorium, Admin Block, with the participation of 111 beneficiaries. The event brought together distinguished alumni including Mr. Kaushik Das, founding member and former Secretary of the Fine Arts Club, Mandita Bora, co-founder and former secretary of the club, and Mahek Wasif, former Aviator Club Secretary and member of the Sintillation Fashion Team. The alumni shared their experiences, achievements, and leadership journeys, inspiring students to explore creative opportunities and actively participate in extracurricular activities. The interactive session strengthened alumni-student connections and provided valuable insights into creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.

Shilpakala - Intra Collegiate Fest
Date 27 to 31 October 2025
The Fine Arts Club, in association with the Literary and Cultural Association, successfully hosted its very first Fine Arts Exhibition titled “Shilpakala,” an intra-collegiate fest, on 31st October 2025. The event was a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and creativity, bringing together talented students from various UG and PG programmes across the college.
The fest featured 12 exciting events, including Flame-Free Feast, Veil & Vision, Henna Tales, Chain Reaction, Mosaic of Moments, Toon Town, Paper Palette, Doodle Dash, and Echoes of Pencil, among others. Each event provided a unique avenue for students to showcase their creativity, imagination, and artistic flair. An overall Best Artist Award was also presented to recognize exceptional talent and versatility.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr. Deepu Joy, Coordinator, Student Welfare Office, and Prof. M. J. Kamalakshi, a renowned artist and former Chairperson of the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy. Their presence and words of encouragement greatly inspired the participants.
The exhibition also featured artworks by several guest artists, offering students an opportunity to engage with and learn from accomplished professionals. The winners of the events were honored with certificates and trophies for their outstanding performances, creativity, and dedication.
Shilpakala 2025 was a resounding success, serving as a platform for students to express their artistic vision and appreciate the rich diversity of creative expression within the campus. The event truly embodied the spirit of artistry, collaboration, and cultural celebration.

Field visit to Karnataka Chitrakala Parisath

The Fine Arts Club of Kristu Jayanti University organised an experiential visit to Karnataka Chitrakala Parisath on 27th September 2025. The visit provided students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of Indian art forms, including traditional paintings, folk art, sculptures, and modern installations. The gathering was addressed by Prof. M.J. Kamalakshi, Artist and former General Secretary of Karnataka Chitrakala Parisath, who shared valuable insights into the evolution of Indian art and the importance of preserving indigenous artistic traditions. Students observed styles such as Tanjore, Mysore, and Madhubani paintings, gaining an understanding of color symbolism, composition, and cultural significance. They also learned about the creative approaches of contemporary artists. The visit fostered visual literacy, aesthetic appreciation, and critical observation, enabling students to connect theoretical learning with real-world artistic expressions and inspiring a deeper appreciation for India’s rich artistic heritage.

“Chitra Vidya” – Basics of Sketching and Painting Workshop

The Fine Arts Club of Kristu Jayanti University organised a one-day workshop titled “Chitra Vidya – Basics of Sketching and Painting” on 18th September 2025 at M2 Auditorium. The resource person for the session was Mr. Sinclaire, a talented self-taught artist from Bengaluru, well known for his mural art, custom canvas paintings, wearable art on jackets, and digital illustrations.
The workshop aimed at introducing students to the essentials of sketching and painting while nurturing their creativity and artistic confidence. Mr. Sinclaire shared valuable insights into artistic techniques, emphasizing the importance of observation, proportion, and expression in sketching. Through interactive demonstrations and live illustrations, he simplified complex methods and inspired participants to explore their own artistic potential.
Students actively engaged in hands-on practice sessions, trying out basic sketching and painting exercises under his guidance. The artist’s approachable teaching style and his inspiring journey as a self-taught professional resonated strongly with the participants.
The session was well-received, with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from students. The workshop not only helped in honing technical skills but also encouraged participants to pursue art as a medium of creative expression.
